Cinema Exhibitors Association of PH President Charmaine Bauzon: We won’t be opening just yet this Saturday… Learning that finally IATF has allowed cinemas to reopen, we need to mobilize things to make sure when people come and watch it will be worthwhile bit.ly/2YNQRTa

Bauzon: Prior to opening, there has to be mandatory checking of temperature, fill out contact tracing form…. At 30% capacity only fully vaccinated people can come in.

Bauzon: When entering cinemas, people will be seated one seat apart and face mask should be worn the whole time. No eating in cinemas for now.

Bauzon says all movie theater staff should be fully vaccinated.

Bauzon says they are still finalizing when movie theaters will officially reopen in NCR.

Bauzon: We have been coordinating with distributors, movie producers as they finalize their lineup.... We also want to make sure that guidelines are aligned in all LGUs.

Bauzon: We also don’t want to be very quick about this that is why it’s critical we assure safety.

Bauzon: Once we open, there is no turning back. We hope this will continue until Christmas and even next year.

Bauzon on the sector’s affected workers who lost their job: Maybe not all (will return) because after 18 months many of them may have looked for other job opportunities.

Calzado: It’s a lot of self-work. I have been blessed with people who have helped me. But now you can reach out to a therapist… there is no shame, there is nothing wrong with that.

Calzado: By sharing my story, I guess that somehow made others feel that they can fight the say I’m fighting.

Calzado on how others can cope with their mental challenges: ‘Move, learn, grow, and create’… If you just hit one those I feel I already accomplished something. It’s a mindset and the choices you make everyday.

Calzado: Reach out to people. Please feel it’s normal to seek professional help or even just to call a friend or somebody. Those at the receiving end of the call, just listen.

Calzado: Everyone is being challenged at the moment… It’s really important to reach out and for us to listen. It’s high time we practice compassion.

Calzado: I feel very hopeful. I am choosing to feel hopeful and I think we should see the things happening around us and just see what we can be grateful for.
