This is what “both sides” as practiced by people like Chuck Todd, Brian Stelter, Jake Tapper, after years of right-wing bullying gets us. This is the ultimate endgame.
This ultimate horse shit that journalism only works when you give two sides to a story no matter the story results in elevating literal Nazis.
Journalism should not exclude a major ideology but it’s journalistic malpractice to insist that truth be paired with bullshit.
Journalism should not exclude liberals or conservatives, Republicans or Democrats, but no ideology’s bullshit should be given equal billing with the truth.

The main ethos of the substack/contrarian “left” is essentially that all mainstream democrats are bad and so they must “own” them. So if that means making excuses for racism, praising horse paste and being TERFs, so be it cause God forbid they align with Pelosi and Hillary.
It’s honestly more fringe than even the most “woke” of woke stuff, existing almost entirely on Twitter and substack. It’s further removed from real people than what I call “dorm room liberalism,” which is also far outside of the world of real people.
Social media makes fringe stuff sound louder than it truly is.

When I was a kid and started bringing home bad grades my very angry mother calmly banned me from all tv watching during the week. I thought this was cruel and draconian at the time. And yet, this: Image
One side effect of no tv during the week led to school improvement and an appreciation for listening to Marlins baseball on the radio along with introducing me to @realphilhendrie’s awesome radio show.
Cutting of 1992-3 Oliver from TV was like turning off the oxygen on an astronaut. But I really deserved it, my grades were for filth.

How things are going for Oliver in 2021, his 44th year on Earth: This morning i Googled what specifically the Bible says about Hell.

I just wanted to be clear on some things.
For a lot of personal reasons I need Hell to exist. Cause there’s quite a few people who I know that’s the only place they may finally pay for their sins. So, Hell.
On the flip side I also need heaven cause I really would like to see my mom and grandparents and my cousin again. So it’s not all negative.

I used to orient my Sundays around #WashingtonFootball games. I still watch but it’s not a priority. It’s annoying to watch an organization who just does not try at all to win
I’ve been a #WashingtonFootball fan since about 1986 when my mom and I moved back to Maryland after living a few years in Jamaica. It’s the only sports team I truly care about. I’ve watched hundreds of games at this point. I’m not asking for 16-0, just not constant mediocrity
Every year #WashingtonFootball tells fans they’re getting their act together. Meanwhile Snyder sits on piles of cash and doesn’t invest in the team. Now attendance sucks, ratings are down - this used to be unthinkable.

Republicans are obsessed with children’s genitals
If Democrats had a multiple state and national obsession with child genitals like this the GOP would never shut up about it.

Republicans have a disturbing fixation on the genitals of children. It’s creepy and weird and none of their business. Stop obsessing over kids genitals.
Texas is the biggest Republican state. Republicans at all levels should make it clear to the public if they have a similar fixation on the genitals of children.
