A man who vandalized Safaricom telecommunication equipment worth over 2M was arrested by police and the equipment confiscated. Lenny Ng’ang’a, masquerading as a Safaricom engineer on a maintenance mission, had gained access to a transmitter station in Murang’a,
after convincing the guard to let him in. After a while, the guard became suspicious of the man’s activities and alerted police officers who immediately rushed to the scene. The suspect however managed to escape by jumping into his vehicle and speeding off,
prompting a chase not witnessed by Murang’a residents in recent times. The suspect’s getaway means a new Suzuki alto KDB 522P, sped towards Saba Saba, as the police land cruiser roared closely behind.
After a few kilometers past Saba Saba, the resilient all terrain police machine caught up with the suspect, forcing him to pull over in surrender.
Further search in the suspect’s car led to the discovery of the telecommunication equipment,
suspected to have been vandalized elsewhere. The suspect’s motor vehicle was impounded and he shall be arraigned in court tomorrow to answer to his crimes.

A knife wielding robber got a dose of his own medicine, when a knife he had sharpened to slaughter innocent victims in Muguga, Kiambu county, sent him to the grave first. Before the sudden twist of events, Evans Atuya, 35, whose lifeless body is lying at
Gachie level 4 hospital had together with two of his accomplices attacked Godwin Wanyama, at his house in Muguga, Kabete sub county. The three had stormed into Wanyama’s house at 2am by knocking his door to the ground using a huge rock, rudely awakening him from his slumber.
A scuffle immediately ensued as the thugs tried to subdue their victim. But a tactful Wanyama went straight for Atuya’s hand and dispossessed him of the knife. Like a lioness whose cubs were under attack, he furiously went for the suspect’s neck and stabbed him as his accomplices

The DCI Volleyball Queens have yet again stamped their authority as the undisputed Nyerere Cup Champions, after thrashing a stubborn Hakika 3 straight set to naught in all Kenyan affair. In an entertaining encounter that brought the packed ImageImage
Ngarenaro sports complex to a standstill, the sleuths displayed pure skill as they snatched point after another, to claim the title. During the group stages, our girls had ‘arrested’ Hakika but the team mischievously fought its way back to the finals. ImageImage
However, unlike in the group stages where they managed one set against us, this time round they left the pitch limping from our beating without a single set. Captain Caroline Sirengo unleashed wild athleticism by blocking almost every shot from Hakika, ImageImage

DCI’s Anti-Narcotics Unit officers based at Jomo Kenyatta Intn'l Airport yesterday seized a cache of narcotics concealed in two shipments, following a tipoff.

One of the shipments that was destined for Australia from Kenya had been declared as African traditional earrings.
The typical eye would easily pass the 168 pairs of earrings as just that, but the deft police officers sensed there was more than met the eye.

After deeper scrutiny, they discovered a yellow powdery substance cleverly concealed within the ornaments. The powder was subjected to
presumptive tests soon afterwards and was positively identified as morphine.

A second consignment had been avowed as 12 kitenge dresses and was enroute to Hong Kong, China. Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) detectives opened the consignment and recovered the 12 declared dresses and an

A scuffle between two men at Kieni's Barrier market in Nyeri county turned fatal when a third man who had rushed to separate them was stabbed to death.

Thunderstruck marketeers glared in shock at the unexpected horrendous scene, when in a sudden turn of events the peace-loving
victim fell with a thud, blood gushing from his neck. Joseph Kagwe Wahome, 26, would in minutes be a murder suspect.

Against the common loggerheads that locals wouldn't be surprised at on a normal market day, yesterday's was different. Kagwe had a kitchen knife tucked in his
person, which he brandished and squarely drove into the neck of the victim before he could be restrained.

In their bid to save life, good Samaritans rushed the victim to Nyeri County Teaching and Referral Hospital, only for him to be declared dead on arrival.

Further probing
