This is a pretty serious GOP gerrymander. Would turn AZ-1 (numbered CD2 on this map) from Biden +2 to Trump +10. AZ-2 (numbered CD-6 on this map) would go from Biden +11 to Trump +2.
Even Mark Kelly would have lost this CD6. That's how much of a gerrymander it is.

Keith Russell Judd is the best example of a protest vote. Conservative voters who were registered Democrats didn't like Obama so they opted to cast a vote for some guy in jail. Judd got enough support to qualify for delegates but the DNC obviously wasn't gonna let that happen.
There is no circumstance in which either party will ever allow a primary challenger against a sitting President to win delegates. Both parties actively work to thwart such challenges and write creative rules regarding delegates.

There are a lot of single digit Biden districts on this map. 13-4 would have been a smarter approach.
Marie Newman might have trouble in a Biden +6 seat that Lipinski would have easily held.
