9 Psychology Lessons You’re NOT Taught In School

⚡️Psychology Thread⚡️
The Brain works in mysterious ways,

but a lot of these mysterious have been deboned by Psychology and Science.
𝟏. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭

If we truly believe that we are going to experience something, our minds and bodies will follow so.

This shows the power of how important it is to master your mind.
𝟐. 𝐁𝐚𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫-𝐌𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐡𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐧 (𝐁𝐌𝐏)

Have you ever learned a new word and you started to see that word everywhere?

This might be the BMP in action.
Our brains are built with a cognitive bias towards things that we recently learnt.

This new information receives priority over information that we’ve known for years.

When you recognise it, your brain makes sure that you see it.
𝟑. 𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠

When we first learn information, we tend to reflect back on that initial information, once we are faced with a similar situation.
𝟒. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟖𝟎/𝟐𝟎 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞

Also, known as Pareto Principle, is the easiest way to run pop your productivity.

This principle states that 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.
80% of the money that a business makes, will likely come from 20% of the most loyal, high-paying customers.

80% of the knowledge you retain, comes from only 20% of your study techniques.
𝟓. 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

It says that we can manifest whatever we focus our thoughts on.

If you focus your thoughts on making money, money making opportunities will present themselves to you.
Your brain is overloaded with billions of things everyday, and it has to choose what is important;

So what it does is that it offloads the process of finding things to focus on.
𝟔. 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 (𝐒𝐀𝐏)

SAP says it starts with us. We tend to attracted to the things that are similar to us.

We might feel comfortable around people look like us.
If we becomes a person that thinks positive things and hold a positive attitude, we will recognise and we’ll be drawn to other positive people and positive opportunities.
𝟕. 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞

(One of my fav)

The people listening to us, will start associate those traits with us.
If you tell a friend how your co-worker’s amazingly hardworking, your friend will start seeing you with that trait.

So, It’s a good excuse to quit gossiping.
𝟖. 𝐂𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞

We all grow with an initial perspective. We hold on to these beliefs, and attract people who enforce them.

But what if we face to a contradict idea?
A situation in which we are faced with 2 perspectives opposing each other.

Our brains start feeling very uncomfortable and it’s kind of pain our brains want to avoid. Instead, it seeks for something which brings pleasure.

So, you’ll change either your belief or your behaviour.
𝟗. 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞

It’s A psychological theory that explains why humans are more comfortable with things they are familiar with.
When you’re introduced to or you heard about something new, you might distance yourself. But once that period of exposure is over, you are more comfortable with the idea.
The world is holistic.

You need multidisciplinary thinking.
