Like aside from the general Libertarian paint-huffing and thinking the company is based in Wisconsin somehow, there's really not a whole lot to sell.

"Name recognition" does nothing, because 3rd parties are allowed, encouraged even, to slap that name on all their stuff...
the "more business-friendly labor market" being speculated about here simply does not exist. It's a weird niche little industry here. Everyone with the actual qualifications to do what the new union here does either currently works at Paizo, or are already pretty comfortably
employed elsewhere in tabletop, with much better pay and working conditions, and either more prestige or more creative freedom. And are presently, actively fully supporting the union.

Also even if you did have a company full of scabs, they would be unable to make a dime, because
the way this industry works, generally speaking the full-time employees don't actually write the books the companies sell. They handle publishing logistics, editing, distribution, and large scale planning, but the writing gets done by freelancers, like me, who are all doing this
work stoppage thing. And there's nobody out there who could do that and isn't doing it already.

Also like, without the people who work there, the company doesn't really have any assets worth buying. Like, there's SOME stock I'm sure of core rulebooks you could flip, but at the
end of the day, it's a subscription based business model. If a stream of new content isn't getting churned out, you aren't making money, and even the existing supply of hardcovers aren't going to sell really because hey it's the core rules to a dead game at that point. Everyone
would just move on to another game. Extra bad right now when the current edition of PF is as young as it is.

And as for "setting up shop overseas" I mean... it's already an international business like that. People print everything in China and ship out from there, mostly to the
U.S. and other English speaking countries. But like... you can't offload your storehouses and distribution chains, which again, is a huge percentage of what the company does, and beyond that you have specialized technical editors. That's not something you can undercut, and really
not something to outsource to people who aren't fluent in English.

So basically the proposal here is that rather than pay people a living wage and maybe quit forcing them to endure a hostile workplace full of sexual harassment, what the owner of Paizo should do is find someone
willing to buy a warehouse full of books they can't sell, ship them either across the Pacific or like, across the street, and then hope that literally the exact same union of workers decide to settle for terrible working conditions despite nothing at all having changed for them.
It'd save time to just suggest "hey, shut down your business completely to support my weird random bullshit I'm pretending is economic advice!" or "Cede control of your company to one of your employees and leave." Save the trouble of reforming things or everyone getting jobs from
one of the many former employees who just went independent and it actually worked out just fine. Awful lot of those to choose from, even.

This (and the rest of the thread) is a point I see brought up very often (because it is plainly true and basically impossible not to observe), but I feel like people (as I'm seeing in the comments of this thread) really drop the ball on where all this externalized self-loathing
comes from.

Way too often, people look at these pathetic wretches and go, "ah, I know why they seem to hate everything about being a woman! They're all actually trans men in denial!"

So, first of all, this is one of those things where I think we all learned the hard way that
things go really badly when you make the wild claim that all the people who hate group X are secretly members of it. This happened with being gay for a good long while, and it lead to a lot of "allies" making shitty gay jokes about right-wing lawmakers and religious cranks, and

So I think I've touched on this a bit, but the attack being made fun of here is actually a bit scary in just how baseless it is.

The degree to which extreme bigots, and I always hate to use this phrase, control the media narrative on trans people is such that not only does their
hatemongering go completely unchecked, their straw men get to speak on behalf of all trans people.

The narrative being pushed here, which based on celebrity reactions is a pretty good recruitment tool, is that trans women are out in force trying to compel everyone to never use
the word "woman" again.

As people keep pointing out, that's completely ridiculous, clearly not happening, not something we'd be in a position to do, something that in fact goes very much against our collective interests, and is of course projection, because this is a hate group

Seeing a few people on the ol' TL today wasting their time trying to have reasoned arguments with anti-vaxxers. I still maintain that the best response to bad-faith arguments is never to engage, but should you insist on doing so, I highly recommend you ignore their talking points
and instead lead with an argument phrased something like this:

IS THE WIDDLE CRYBABY SCARED OF A TINY LITTLE NEEDLE? WAAAAAAAH! WAAAAAAAAAH! I DON'T WANT AN OUCHY FROM A TEENY LITTLE POINTY! I NEED EVERYONE TO LET ME JUST HIDE UNDER MY BLANKIE AND PRETEND NOTHING'S WRONG! WAH!
Should the person in question attempt some manner of counter-argument, you might then respond with something like:

WAH! WAH! THE WIDDLE CRYBABY CAN'T HANDLE A WIDDLE POKE YOU CAN BARELY FEEL! WAH!

And I want to stress that I am actually being completely serious with this advice

Hey anti-vax weirdos. You got a ton of vaccinations when you were a child. Nothing happened except you didn't get any horrible plagues from not having them. Millions of people have gotten the ones you're worried about and had no problems of any kind after, they can just live life
and the big scary looking needles you keep seeing in news stories are ridiculous props from stock photos. The actual needle is so small and so thin you literally don't even feel it and there isn't a single drop of blood. At worst you're tired for a day.

Every other scary thing
you've heard is a ridiculous story someone made up because they're a whiny little baby looking for an excuse not to get jabbed with what they imagine is a giant needle and the crap they make up is absurd if you think at all. A few drops of what's mostly clearly clear water can't

So I'm seeing a lot of people's direct responses to the post in the screenshot here, so it's clearly making the rounds, and I figured I'd just toss out a random reminder that when you see something like this get posted, you need to be aware that is not a message from a person you
can engage in any kind of meaningful dialog.

If you're going to engage with something like that, you need to treat it like that scenario from every zombie movie ever where someone's loved one has undeniably become a zombie and is in attack mode.

Like, if you happen to be in a
position to catch someone in the early stages of radicalization and you want to talk them down, hey go for it. But someone in the early stages of radicalization looks like a normal functioning human being who throws you for a loop in the middle of a conversation with a single

While I'm laughing at a bunch of nazis having all their private info posted all over the internet, I would like to remind you that avoiding such a fate is the reason I don't even stick out my paypal address and instead link this list amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls… and PS my birthday is
observed next month.

This is not me suggesting that people order stuff off that wishlist using the credit card numbers of various hardcore murderous nazis to clean that list out by the way. That would most likely cause a ton of headaches as those are reported as stolen etc. etc.
This is also not a suggestion that anyone do to the nazis in question any of the sorts of things they do to torture people when they have access to their full legal names and addresses, as most of that is illegal and, again, I don't want anyone getting in trouble.

I'm absolutely
