The dangerous thing about the Age of Mediocrity is that mediocre people, like Joe Biden and his administration, hate and fear excellence. They think they're the smartest people in the room, and they try to keep it that way by destroying everyone smarter than themselves.
The core tenet of the Democrat Party's socialist ideology - "from each according to his means, to each according to his needs" - is literally a recipe for creating mediocrity. Achievement will be punished until everyone understands that achievement is illogical.
Critical Race Theory and the rest of the toxic garbage Democrats are forcing on your children is also a formula for mediocrity. Exceptionalism is exploitation. Achievement is theft. If you're doing better than average, you must be an oppressor.
Mediocre people with power will invariably construct a system where enforcing mediocrity upon others is the only path to "acceptable" success. The socialist elite, who produce nothing and spend their days stealing from those who do, are the only people allowed to live in luxury.
But no matter how rich and powerful they make themselves, mediocrities are always insecure and hateful of those who can expose their inadequacy by succeeding in unapproved ways. It makes the mediocre vicious and punitive. They constantly accuse everyone else of being criminals.
Mediocre people with power create a society where everyone talks about what they "deserve," what they're "entitled" to, rather than what they earn. They punish dangerous ideas, stifle humor, and penalize creativity. They tolerate no criticism of their performance.
The mediocre are very big on credentialism and paperwork. Challenged with the obvious disasters they have created, they will brandish stacks of awards and certificates. They invest a great deal of effort in padding their resumes and polishing their biographies.
The mediocre hold a LOT of meetings, and consider discussing a problem to be synonymous with solving it. They tend to fail upward. They angrily insist no one could possibly have overcome any challenge that defeats them, and punish those who try to prove them wrong.
The mediocre are obsessed with making everyone else agree that they live in the best of all possible worlds. Desiring more than what they can provide is greedy. They endlessly natter about "consensus" because that's how they band together to overwhelm the exceptional. /end
