Car warning lights appear on your dash or infontainment system when something is not right with your car. The number and degree of component monitoring differs from car to car, but youll generally have these lights.
If your car throws a light not covered above, you can google your particular model dashboard lights.
In addition to the light meaning, color coding is also important when making decisions regarding a light.
Red light means STOP the vehicle needs immediate technical attention
If you do not have the wherewithal solve it yourself, please seek help. You should not drive a car with a red light on, especially if it is accompanied by a beeping sound.
Yellow and amber: car needs technical attention, but may still drive. the darker the color, the more urgent
Yellow may also mean your car is running in un desirable condition, although nothing is wrong. this type of light will go off immediately you get out of that condition even without technical intervention.
White: The car needs to be checked for stored codes that may not necessarily mean something is wrong. Get them read and a decision made by a tech
Green: your car is doing cool stuff
And once the cool stuff condition no longer exists, they go off
