Royal Embarrassment: "#PrinceWilliam ‘misinformed’ (✍My edit: wrong, not educated) on benefits of space tech, says industry body chief." How embarrassing for #dukeofCambridge archive.md/KJRET
The head of the trade association for the British space industry has hit back at criticism from #PrinceWilliam over space exploration.
Will Whitehorn, the head of UKspace, said the heir to the throne’s comments were “misinformed” and could be seen as “anti-technology”.
Prince William #DuchessofCambridge criticised working entrepreneurs from his taxpayer funded palace. Whitehorn who is also chancellor of Edinburgh Napier University and former president of Virgin Galactic, said: “I understand the sentiment behind Prince William’s comments,
but the reality is that space is an essential tool in the battle against climate change and reaching net zero. It’s not about a few millionaires going on a jaunt into space.
It is only through space exploration that we have learned what is happening to this planet in terms of global warming.” #PrinceWilliam

Glasgow is a global centre for small satellite construction, an industry worth £2.5bn annually and forecast to increase to £4bn in the next decade.
Last week the Scottish government launched its own Scottish Space Strategy that seeks to create 20,000 jobs in the sector over the next decade and secure a £4 billion share of the global space market by 2030.
Reminder: #PrinceWilliam ‘misinformed’ on benefits of space tech, says industry body chief. Why doesn't Prince William speak to experts before embarrassing himself?
Unfortunately, while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were visiting the Solomon Islands they failed to research traditional clothes and wore the wrong ensembles.
Royal blunder: The pink strapless dress Kate styled and the bright blue shirt William wore was actually the traditional dress from the Cook Islands — which is 3,000 miles away from Solomon Islands.
And then the Cambridges tried to blame other people for their mistake. A spokesman for William and Kate, both 30, tells Us Weekly in a statement, "We saw they weren't the same design of the traditional clothes we were told would be gifted.
So we checked with the Solomon Islands government to ensure the right ones were worn." But the Solomon Islands' government "reassured the clothes were correct, and so the Duke and Duchess wore them to the event."
Will and Kate then apparently thought THOSE clothes were the ones they were to don for the dinner, and the rest is history.

She added: “When the Duchess came out in the Cook Islands dress, I was so shocked I immediately went to Rebecca Deacon and asked her why the Royal Highnesses were wearing Cook Islands clothes. archive.md/7TQzd
She said she didn’t see the note pinned to the dress. I asked her what we should do about this awful business. She asked me not to say anything, and leave it to her.”

“Meghan Markle is proving to be an absolute star,” said Joshua Bamfield, the director of the Centre for Retail Research. Anything she wears also sells out instantly; there's no doubt her nuptials will inspire bridal trends for the years to come.

Side note: Was I the only one that missed this story? Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 'request a meeting with the Queen' - leaving Royal aides stunned by 'sheer nerve' of request months after Oprah. archive.md/nQwxN
Royal aides have been left stunned by the 'sheer nerve' of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after they asked for a meeting with Queen.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly hoping to introduce the Queen to their daughter Lilibet, who was born earlier this year on June 4.
"The source told the publication: 'Harry and Meghan have made this offer but a lot of people are shocked by the sheer nerve of it. They may genuinely want to see Queen but it's breath-taking given what they've 'put her through' this year."
The Palace was accused of lying by claiming she was "resting at Windsor" while she was actually in hospital for "preliminary investigations".
By performing her duties in her advanced years, she is protecting her legacy while lining up the future of the monarchy.
But it is hardly easy as she knows Charles does not command the respect that she does while the position of Camilla in the next reign will be fraught with problems.
Duke of Sussex seemed to imply that his family became jealous of Meghan and Harry’s popularity after they toured Australia in 2018.
“It all changed after the Australia tour,” he said after confirming that Prince William and Kate Middleton were “really welcoming” to Markle in the beginning.
He continued: “It was the first time the family got to see how incredible she was at the job.

Prince Harry has remained the most searched-for royal on the internet, more so than any other members of his family.

The popularity of Harry and Meghan in the U.S. is far greater than in the U.K. Meghan is American, and they live in California.
Sorry America. “Team Cambridge is very focused on America and making sure they have a high profile over there,” the source told VF. “The possibility of them making a high-profile visit is very much on the cards for next year.”
