Using Shape Expressions is a great way to improve data on #Wikidata. However, the process of authoring such a shape expression is a great way of understanding how concepts are modelled on #Wikidata. (a thread) >>
To understand how items also covered by the #diseaseOntology I started the following EntitySchema: wikidata.org/wiki/EntitySch…
After running that EntitySchema on all Wikidata items that contain the Wikidata property Disease Ontology ID (P699) I got the following report
A frightening number of "issues", however, further inspection revealed some inaccuracies in the EntitySchema. Updating those in iterative steps, lead to more manageable numbers.
Those iterative updates/downgrades are nicely rendered in the MediaWiki history report: wikidata.org/w/index.php?ti…
There are two conclusions: 1. Authoring Shape Expressions is an iterative process. 2. Reported issues might not be always caused by errors in the data, but they can also be caused by incomplete EntitySchemas

Yet another of my observations on #iNaturalist (inaturalist.org/taxa/337544-Ca…) is not described on the English Wikipedia. Image
#iNaturalist uses Wikipedia content to describe taxa. So if a Wikipedia article does not exist, a template is given. This template can be used to create that Wikipedia article. Image
I created a stub on Wikipedia. These are the steps.

1. I check #Wikidata to see if this species is described on any of the other language editions of Wikipedia. It is. H Image
