So - A radical simplification of alcohol duties.
FIVE STEPS (not 12??) #Budget21 1) Slashing main duty rates from 15 to 6. The stronger the drink, the stronger the rate

2) A new, smaller producer relief. Small cider makers and other producers will be getting a lighter rate.
3) Changes to reflect the way in which people consume alcohol. (wait, wut?!?) No duty premium of 28% on sparkling wines, wherever produced.
4) Support the Pub! Draft Relief applying lower rates and benefit community pubs who do 70% of trade on draft. Drop of 5%. #Budget21
5) A long-term investment in British Pubs, alcohol and others. "Beer Barrel politics?" - To come into effect in 2023 but RIGHT NOW... confirmation the planned increase in duty on spirits (ie scotch) will all be cancelled from midnight tonight. #Budget21. A £3bn tax cut...
