Self-discipline is about learning to control yourself so you can work towards your goals but it's not always easier and the reasons are:
• Due to the Resistance, we experience.
• The Problem of Present Bias
• Habits are tough to develop
• The “Try Too Hard Cycle”
Due to the Resistance, we experience
Doing 20 pushups every day seems easy on paper or in our imagination. However, trying to do it in life is always hard.
The answer lies in the resistance that we face.
• Pain
• Effort
• Stress
• Fear of failure.
• Fear of the unknown
• Lack of energy
• Lack of confidence
• Instant Gratification
The Problem of Present Bias
Present Bias is the state that most of the time we do things to benefit our Present Self,
and we discount the effects our actions have on our Future Self.
Habits are Tough to Develop
No doubt, how many times you’ve promised yourself to exercise regularly?
It’s not working for you, right?
Because our brain always loves to sit inside our comfort zone.
That’s the reason we lose motivation and procrastinate to build a habit.
The “Try Too Hard Cycle”
• We start by wanting to change our life.
• We decide to try to change everything at once.
• Which leads to burning out, then giving up.
• We get fed up and want to change our lives again.
• And it keeps repeating OVER and OVER.
I hope it's useful for you.

One of the great mysteries of life is why some people who seem to have all the advantages - the right connections, education, and experience - never seem to amount to much while others who have had to struggle for everything have reached incredible heights of success.
It hinges on the determination. If you have the will to succeed, you will somehow find a way, regardless of the obstacles you encounter.
