This letter to the New England Journal of Medicine reports on the "Toxic Effects from Ivermectin Use Associated with Prevention and Treatment of Covid-19." slnews.us/pbgl103021a
Rep. Andy Harris is an anesthesiologist. He is not an internist or an infectious disease specialist. Yet, he's prescribed ivermectin as a covid-19 treatment. washingtonpost.com/local/md-polit…
As the NEJM letter states: "There is insufficient evidence to support the use of ivermectin to treat or prevent Covid-19 and improper use, as well as the possible occurrence of medication interactions, may result in serious side effects requiring hospitalization."
It would be helpful if a physician reported Dr. Harris' actions to the Maryland Board of Physicians.

Tonight's installment of the continuing series "Ravages of Old Age."
One of the simple joys I have is laying on the hammock on my front porch and reading. Baltimore being Baltimore, there are actually relatively few days when the weather will permit me to indulge. Tonight was one of those nights.
Disaster struck.
The three fingers on my left hand cramped. While I am not well-versed in orthopedics (To paraphrase Dr. McCoy: "Dammit Jim, I'm a lawyer, not a doctor."),
This article sets forth in great detail the multifaceted issue of whether the Wuhan Institute was, directly or indirectly, responsible for the initial spread of the Covid virus. In fact, there are several possible avenues that this may have occurred.
First, a researcher may have entered into the bat caves without proper protection, caught the virus, and then spread it.
Second, the Institute itself, while researching the virus, may have not undertaken appropriate safety measures.
Third, related to the second item, the Institute may have engaged in gain-of-function research without undertaking appropriate safety measures.
If you had not heretofore concluded that Tom Cotton was batshit crazy, this should clinch the argument.
In a letter to Pres. Biden, he claimed: ""[The Chinese Communist Party ('CCP')] also considers DNA collection a vital intelligence-gathering objective. . . . .
The CCP has reportedly conducted tests to develop biologically-enhanced soldiers and intends to use DNA data to catapult Chinese biotechnology companies to global market dominance."
Where have we heard about precious bodily fluids before?
The lawsuit challenging Houston Methodist Hospital's order that all employees be vaccinated against Covid-19 has been thrown out. I have posted the opinion here: slnews.us/pbgl061321a
One passage in that opinion is worthy of note. Some people have contended that a requirement that people be vaccinated is somehow unconstitutional. The Court (a Reagan appointee) made short work of that argument.
At page 2 of the opinion, the Court states: "[The Plaintiff] also argues that the injection requirement violates public policy. Texas does not recognize this exception to at-will employment, and if it did, the injection requirement is consistent with public policy.
Lindsey Graham sent a letter to Schumer requesting that the impeachment proceedings be dismissed. Now the letter contained the usual Graham bullshit
(e.g., saying "Those who were complicit in this attack will be held accountable" while, in essence, urging that Trump escape accountability),
but there was one portion of the letter that opened a possibility that Graham certainly did not intend. Specifically, he asked that the Senate vote to dismiss the article of impeachment even before a trial.
Pres-Elect Biden's Chief of Staff has issued a punchlist of actions that will be taken in the first ten days of the new administration. The following is a description of only the actions that will be taken on January 20:
"On Inauguration Day, President-elect Biden will sign roughly a dozen actions to combat the four crises, restore humanity to our immigration system, and make government function for the people.
As previously announced, he will ask the Department of Education to extend the existing pause on student loan payments and interest for millions of Americans with federal student loans, re-join the Paris Agreement, and reverse the Muslim Ban.
