Drumroll… it’s time to reveal to the world @Genspect’s first ever daughter website, statsforgender.org! This site is intended for parents, journalists, politicians, and the growing group of people who are interested in gender.
1/10
The world of gender has been blighted for far too long with low quality research, online surveys and selection bias. statsforgender.org gives you the information you need to know, in one place, without too much academic jargon. 2/10
statsforgender.org presents simple, easily understood information in a clear manner, eg: The term ‘Two-Spirit’ is not an ancient Native American term. It was invented in 1990. Evey point is backed up by research that has been selected for it's reliability
3/10
At @genspect we've noticed the need for clear information. Did you know "Up to a quarter of transgender genital surgeries result in incontinence"? This important information need to be highlighted. For further information go on to statsforgender.org and expand the link 4/10
Education sets us free to make safe, informed decisions. Where possible, statsforgender.org has done its best to avoid heavily academic language so we can help everyone to make important decisions with the best information available to them
5/10
"The District of Columbia in the US has 3.5 times more people who identify as trans than any other state in the USA." Why is this? Who knows? We hope that by highlighting the facts around gender, statsforgender.org might encourage people to further study this field.
6/10
We are very aware that stats for the transgender population are often difficult to quantify as different definitions are used to describe the term ”transgender”. Our focus is to underpin the statements we provide with sound research.
7/10
We know that this is a controversial area of research and that short statements cannot comprehensively cover every topic; however, statsforgender.org aims to bring some much-needed clarity to this area for reasonable people who want to know the most apt answer
8/10
When the famous squirrel trainer @JohnCleese recently asked a reasonable question about how many trans folk were there in the UK, he received 419 different answers: this is the type of thing that makes it impossible to find the basic facts
9/10
and this is why @genspect are launching statsforgender.org. We want to help disseminate as much reliable information as far as possible. We’d like this to be shared as far and wide as can be, so please don’t hesitate to share this with whoever might be interested

Burke wins at the Court of Appeal. Gript takes the Press Council to court.
Two cases, one message: The days of silencing dissent through institutional capture are numbered.
Here's why this matters 🧵
Burke was fired in 2023 for refusing to use a student's new name & pronouns.
Court of Appeal blocked his disciplinary panel, ruling it biased — the union rep judging him was from ASTI, which backs pronoun policies.
Even divisive cases deserve fair process. archive.ph/rmatS
@griptmedia exposed explicit content in Dublin City University’s teacher training via undercover recordings.
The Press Council censured them.
Gript’s reply? “See you in court.”
Now regulators must say why parents shouldn’t know what teachers are taught. archive.ph/5YmO6
🧵 Detransitioners face profound losses—sexual function, intimacy, fertility—and often carry the grief that follows alone.
A new paper documents these hidden struggles through stories shared with Genspect, revealing why specialized support like @BeyondTransHelp is essential.
At our 2023 Bigger Picture conference in Killarney, detransitioned lesbian Jet revealed how puberty blockers derailed her sexual development—leaving her unable to form intimate connections or access her own sexuality:
In our Detransitioners Unheard series, Forrest mourns the loss of fertility and sexual function—permanent changes that reshaped not just his body, but his entire sense of self:
🧵 Puberty blockers are fueling an unprecedented medical experiment on children. Genspect UK's powerful new briefing examines the alarming evidence and detransitioner testimony that challenge the NHS's reckless trial. Thanks to @cwestonclark for leading this critical work.
Our briefing systematically debunks key myths about puberty blockers, including their reversibility, mental health benefits, and supposed suicide prevention effects—all claims contradicted by the Cass Review's findings.
Detransitioners from our @BeyondTransHelp service courageously share their experiences: "It was the worst decision I ever made, and I'm haunted by the lingering side effects every single day." These authentic voices form the heart of our briefing, offering vital perspective.
