getting the 3.5 trillion reconciliation bill passed is a fundamental part of the theory of change advocated by bernie/the squad. if it succeeds, they deserve credit for passing the litmus test they set for themselves. if it fails, it means that entire theory of change is bankrupt

but if it does fail, which I believe is the more likely outcome, I fully expect them to change the goalposts and claim that a further watering down of the bill to 1.5 trillion or whatever is actually still a major success and victory, and their followers will greedily lap it up

to be clear, their theory of change is the notion that you can get the necessary measures taken to avoid another trump and ward off climate catastrophe by getting more "progressives" elected into congress in the short-term. if that bill fails, that project is effectively dead

the prices for the mandatory day 2 and 8 covid tests are fucking absurdly high, and basically prevent anyone who is poor from being able to come to the UK or travel out of it. they should be freely provided by the state instead of leaving it up to the predatory private sector

the government's website has a list of hundreds of these private companies that popped up out of nowhere and charge up to 300 pounds for a fucking self swab test that you can get for free if you're not applying for it as part of the travel requirements. it's a fucking scam

LOL this is so transparent. these are basically just sites quickly set up with a standard template and a different name like "118 testing", "001 covid test", "1 stop covid shop" (all of these are real), and they all use the same lab to get the test results. it's a big scam-market

starmer pretended to be corbyn but "electable" and won solely for that reason, then expelled 90% of the people who voted for him from the party, including corbyn himself. the fact that the socialist campaign group just stood by and watched that happen shows how pathetic they are
