DpH Wiltshire says the rise in prevalence due to Immensa Lab

NB: DHSC said it had ADVISED the lab to stop private travel testing & has been assured that IMMENSA is not carrying out any private or international testing at the WOLVERHAMPTON lab itv.com/news/westcount…
Weasel words.

Looks as if DHSC Test processing still ongoing in the Loughborough Lab.

I’ve got to say that I don’t find this phrase particularly reassuring either
DHSC spokesperson said “The Immensa laboratory in Wolverhampton passed an independent quality audit overseen by NHS Test and Trace and is in the process of UKAS accreditation."
I think that “independent” quality audit should be published so we can see who did it, how thorough it was, the measures against which they ascertained “quality” and the findings and recommendations.

And what does “in the process of UKAS accreditation even mean”?
Stage 1? Applied and said “I”m good and paid the money?

Stage 2? What have they done AND WHEN to progress things to stage two?

Stage 3? The same
The regulation re @UKAS accreditation.

So how do they monitor the process beyond Stage 1.

Up it goes on their website.

A month passes and nothing much further done to progress the process.

Does @UKAS then take it down until Stage 2 has been completed successfully? Image
H/t @KillBrexitNow now for the nudge to attach the regulations

legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/1549…
I do wonder how actively these companies and labs that are springing up left right and centre are monitored and policed.

Not just for safety and security of testing but also in relation to financial security and with regard to data security and ethical management.

Johnson’s bruising defeat over standards reform angers Tory MPs | Financial Times

Utterly despicable. Tory Whips threatened to withdraw funding for constituencies where their Tory MP did not support the Leadsom motion.

This should be banned. Shocking ft.com/content/51c93b…
And why did Johnson do something that sleazy?

Because his boss at the Telegraph, Brexiter Charles Moore told him to.

No doubt also because there are so many examples of corrupt practise in the pipeline - so they set about undermining the investigator and Standards Committee Image
When Johnson led almost 250 Tory MPs into the House of Commons division lobbies on Wednesday, he will have noted the sullen looks, but one Tory MP said it was worse than that: “There were MPs in tears going through the lobby.”

They KNEW it was wrong but went along.
Inexplicable Image

🇺🇸 750,000 COVID dead: Staggering

Uncle Tyrone went first. On his way to the hospital in South Florida, he implored his niece Lisa Wilson: “I want the vaccine.”
“You can’t get it now,” Wilson told Tuyrono “Tyrone” Moreland, who was 48

He died days later washingtonpost.com/health/750000-…
Wilson’s grandmother, Lillie Mae Dukes Moreland, who raised Lisa and nine of her own children, was next. She’d decided against the vaccine. It was too new, she thought. Plus, some members of the family had counseled her against getting the shot. At 89, they said, she was too old.
In late August, she came down with covid-19, was taken to the hospital the day after Tyrone’s funeral and died less than 24 hours later.

The next day, Aug. 31, one of Wilson’s cousins died of covid complications. A few days later, another cousin, and then a third.

Examine the walk of shame.

The MPs who voted in support of the Leadsom Motion.

Yep. Alex Chalk (Cheltenham and Graham (Gloucester) dutifully voted as whipped.

Didn’t even have the balls to abstain

votes.parliament.uk/Votes/Commons/… Image
And even if a handful of the Tory MPs who did abstain voted against it the shameful shameful motion would not have passed

Tory MPs abstainers.

They knew it was wrong but are so cowardly they would not vote on it. ImageImageImageImage
Still. Interesting to see how many were against it one way or another.

This should be leveraged as they should all feel sick to their stomach.

Some cabinet ministers and chairs of select committees in there.

That’s how weak Chalk is. Image

School rocked by deaths of 2 pupils in 1 week

Whilst cause of death has not yet been attributed, both these young lads were in a school, St John Fisher, Stoke on Trent, with high Covid levels last half term

Both could’ve been vaccinated over the summer. stokesentinel.co.uk/news/stoke-on-…
In fact the school is in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The two boys, Harry Towers and Mohammed Habib were in year 10 and year 11.
Of course a fifteen year old would barely have had the chance and a 16/17 year old only late August.

These are the 6 who had allegations upheld against them by the standards commissioner.

Mark Francois, Karl McCartney, Iain Duncan Smith, Crispin Blunt, Bob Neill and Richard Drax.
And let’s not forget the number of reprimands against Johnson himself in relation to repeated failures in transparency re financial interests
This party that expects everyone to “take it on the chin” even when they have done nothing to deserve “taking it on the chin” is so packed with big girl’s blouses they can’t even take the most reasonable rebuke that they have richly RICHLY deserved on the chin.

When you are travelling to work, happily not masking up because this useless Government has said it’s fine, then bring this S Korean study to mind, remembering they take epidemiological studies seriously.

See Case 1?

That’s typical underground or bus at busy times. Image
At peak times it is even worse. A crush.

And Covid rates are higher here than they’ve ever been in S Korea.

You’ll be blissfully unaware of who is infected and who is not.

Or if you are lucky or unlucky with immunity

So don’t be a sheep. Wear a mask.

science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
And get vaccinated.

Particularly as the S Korean dishes out better quality masks than most people wear in 🇬🇧

In this study they discuss both grade of mask and fit of mask and point out that both these factors could make the risk of transmission worse than in these diagrams
