Those UK Health Security Agency vaxx surveillance reports showing massively higher rates of infection in most vaxxed age groups are coming under heavy fire. May not be long for this world.

LMAO "the Office of Statistics Regulation ruled the UKHSA needs to more effectively highlight how behavioural differences could have skewed the figures"

They don't like the numbers but they're still flailing trying to find some minimally plausible reason to pretend they're wrong Image
Just unbelievable statements from "OSR director general Ed Humpherson" here.

He says recent changes to qualify the data as "unadjusted" are welcome, but "it remains the case that the ... report includes rates ... which can be used to argue that vaccines are not effective" Image
Anytime you year that vaxx protect against illness/ death because the UKHSA reports show lower incidence of both in the vaxxed, throw this line at them. According to OSR director Humpherson, nobody should be misled into thinking vaxx surveillance tells you anything about efficacy Image
Humpherson is one of the most completely stupid people on earth. He thinks the differences are down to behaviour. 100% higher rates of infection in vaccinated (where all of the most cautious Covid hysterics are congregated) is down to the unvaxxed hiding under their beds. Image
No sooner has Humpherson pontificated that the reports are useless for making determinations about efficacy, than we read: "It should be noted that ... the same data set clearly demonstrates the jabs reduce the chance of hospitalisation and death from the virus." Image
Every line this article is hilarious to me, really a rare treat.

UKHSA is "grateful" to Mr Humpherson for "helping make their report less vulnerable to anti-vaxxers" Image

UKHSA Vaccine Efficacy Statistics: Week 50

The 18–29 age bracket goes negative, as we knew it would.

eugyppius.substack.com/p/ukhsa-vaccin…
Comparing to the week 49 report, we see that the 30-49 year-olds are also falling deeper into negative efficacy, while things are improving for 60 year-olds, as they continue to boost. Image
While the booster campaign was still ongoing, we saw that vaccinated people in their 80s had about the same risk of death as that of unvaccinated people in their 70s. The boosters have improved things for them a little bit. Image

It has long been obvious, that the lack of interest in developing variant-specific vaxx reflects a pervasive acceptance of the phenomenon of Original Antigenic Sin among vaxx developers.
wsj.com/articles/covid…
There’s always a minority of observers who treat my posts on Original Antigenic Sin like it’s some crackpot theory of human immunity, whereas in fact there’s an extensive literature behind it and it’s widely (if often silently) acknowledged among vaxx developers.
Filling in the blanks, I think there was an informal confidence that, because SARS-2 had been leaked, spike was already optimised. Mutations could only take it downhill. They gambled on vaxxing everyone against what they thought was the optimal form of the protein …

compiling this has been surprisingly useful for me. i want to experiment with this as a weekly (free) feature. i'd be enormously grateful if you send me your own report of local conditions at containment@tutanota.com.
moar downthread ...
especially impt: the mood on the street, the mood in the schools, who is supporting insane containment policies, who is opposed. brief summaries of major political debates as you see them. also any local knowledge that might effect our interpretation of your country's stats ...
i.e., 'people pay doctors for bogus vaxx certificates,' 'kids are subject to mandatory testing in school,' that kind of thing. i can translate the major euro languages (italian, french, german of course, spanish is a bit touch-and-go but I'll make it work) ...

one like, one obviously true fact about Corona that is bizarrely ignored by official discourse.

until my glass of scotch bottoms out.
infections unfold according to obvious seasonal and regional patterns that are so powerful they wash out all other measures
Corona is harmless to children

From the most recent Public Health England vaccine surveillance report: For all age groups 40 and older, the fully vaccinated have higher rates of infection than the unvaccinated.

Time since 2nd dose is tightly correlated with age in the UK. The under-40s still haven't experienced full vaxx fade yet and enjoy some protection against infection. Image
the same chart from their week 36 report. you can see how the effect is stable and has gotten if anything more pronounced in the weeks since.
