CONTEXT: This was the guy who came up with the theory that Democrats encouraging Trump supporters to get vaccinated are actually using reverse psychology to make them NOT get vaccinated so they will, instead, get sick and die.
Also, if people disagree with him, he claims he is having sex with their mothers.
I am not making any of this up.

Three months from now:

- Dems will talk up their spending bills, regardless of what's in them, as a huge step forward.
- Republicans will call the bills socialism, even as they take credit for local projects getting money.
- No one will remember or care about the process.
One year from now:

- If the economy is doing well and COVID is beaten/mostly beaten, Dems won't get completely clobbered in midterms.
- If COVID is still an issue and the economy is weak, Dems will get clobbered.
Three years from now:

- If the economy is doing okay, Biden will likely win re-election.
- If it's doing badly, he will likely lose.

Who is taking what Trump did between Nov. 3 and Jan. 6 seriously?

Liz Cheney.

Here are some comments from today's Rules Committee meeting to schedule tomorrow's resolution holding Steve Bannon in criminal contempt:
“The people who attacked this building told us, continue to tell us on video, on social media, and now before the federal courts, exactly what motivated them. They believed what Donald Trump said, that the election was stolen and that they needed to take action."
"At this moment, it is not just the institution of Congress' authority that is at stake, the potential harm to the foundation of our Republic is far more significant. In the past week, President Trump has openly urged millions of Republican voters not to vote in 2022 or 2024.

MARINE HARDWARE TWITTER:

Looking for 3/8-16 slotted screws, 3.5 or 4 inches long, in 316 stainless.

These are 3, and I worry that with the bedding tape and washers, I’m not going to get a thread on.

McMaster and Grainger both have it in 18/8, but not 316.

Suggestions? Image
Thanks all, for the good suggestions, with the possible exception of the duct tape.

There were a couple of vendors I hadn't even known about that I'm checking.
It's entirely possible I'm overthinking this.

18/8 is not as corrosion resistant as 316, but in the end the corrosion is going to happen where the screw goes through the aluminum backing plate.

There is a decent chance Bannon is actively trying to sabotage Glenn Youngkin.

A rally by Steve Bannon does absolutely nothing to help Youngkin, and can only hurt him. Bannon is certainly smart enough to understand that.

washingtonpost.com/local/virginia…
But Bannon holds it anyway, gets Trump to call in, has the various looney Trump followers do their normal looney Trump follower things, and, voila, Youngkin is suddenly back having to choose between alienating Trump's base and every person with a college degree in the state.
To what end?

Well, Bannon loves Trump because he was Bannon's useful idiot, willing to push all of the alt-right/white nationalist stuff that Bannon was promoting at Breitbart.

No. Some of you don't get it. He's not a Qanon cultist.

He is literally the guy who invented it.
Here is what he posted after Biden was inaugurated:

NEW -- Criminal law already has a “crime-fraud” exception to attorney-client privilege.

Donald Trump’s attempts to keep secret his actions leading up to Jan. 6 could define a “coup-plotting" exception to executive privilege.

huffpost.com/entry/trump-ja… via @HuffPostPol
The Biden WH spells it out pretty clearly:

"The constitutional protections of executive privilege should not be used to shield, from Congress or the public, information that reflects a clear and apparent effort to subvert the constitution itself."
Because that is what Trump is arguing. He plotted inside the Oval Office to overthrow democracy so he could remain in power, but wants the rules and norms offered by that democracy to keep that plotting a secret, basically forever.
