I know the punditry and the consultant class will be telling us that Democrats have to withdraw our positions on civil rights, police reform, and more to persuade the white working class to vote with us. To that, I say bullshit.

We need to identify the white voters who are persuadable. We need not troll for MAGAs but for those who were influenced by lies to swing from D to R. It means being more confrontational, not less. We need to be confrontational with the media that amplifies these conspiracies
In the past, the media did not seek out the John Birchers because they were cranks and they were not newsworthy. Now the media seeks out the cranks and makes them seem mainstream by repeated exposure. They reified anti-mask, anti-vax, and Q conspiracies.
The media reduces every issue to two sides. But when the battle between truth and error is presented as two equivalent "sides" and error is credentialed as much as truth, when error is repeated more often than truth because it's edgy. Error wins.
Lies are not another "side" to a debate. Lies are lies. The media's failure to call out the lies is destroying democracy, but hey, the destruction of democracy is a ratings winner.
