Our Republic is on the brink of war with itself. We have more guns than people and only so much hate until it turns into actual armed conflict. We need leaders who unite us. Not politicians who divide us.
We have to deescalate.
It’s easy to make our enemies people and not systems. Our real enemy is the system that brought us here, it’s money in politics, corruption, racism, poverty, militarism and climate change.
All of which pose a greater threat to people than any single country.
I shouldn’t have said deescalate we need to reconstruct and finish the job this time, we need to have some real accountability and justice for people.
We need truth and justice.
I also have to do a better job of leading and making our enemy gun violence and the injustice that perpetuates it not just one person or organization. We all agree (we’ll almost all of us agree) gun violence should end.
Ending gun violence will only be possible if bipartisan.
I’ve been in the past I’ve been myopic in my view. If we really want to save lives we have to work together against our real enemy- gun violence.
If we really are dedicated to saving as many lives as possible, we have to get over partisan politics and demand action from our elected officials on both sides.
Our division as a country is costing lives every single day.
Even if you completely disagree with me on gun reform and think gun violence is only a mental health issue- go and advocate for that. 2/3 of gun deaths are suicides by gun owners- go to your state legislatures and work on a program to help fund mental health programs to help them
If a Republican Congress member or state rep does this and it’s an actually a good program focused on reducing gun suicides (That doesn’t stigmatize mental illness more) I will lobby with you.

Studying history has made me realize the system isn’t broken it’s doing exactly what it was made to do.
It was never about helping people, it was about making a few men richer and using the 99% as Canon fodder to protect their wealth.
The system only ever helps people when the that wealth is threatened (typically by war) so they need us to buy into the system more- they do so by giving us a tiny amount more of say, money and resources.
We shouldn’t increase the military budget one cent until we get universal healthcare, free college, eradicate homelessness, massively reduce poverty and address climate change.
We just have to prioritize feeding the American people instead of war.
Democrats, Republicans and nearly all elected officials of every party are puppets of the military industrial complex. There are jobs in every congressional district that depend on the war machine.
As a result there is basically nothing we can do to change that until we decrease military spending that will cost jobs in every congressional district- which is why it’s practically impossible to cut spending.
There is no reason we need to spend as much as we do on the military industrial complex.
If you want a job making machine gear it to fight our climate emergency not inventing new ways to turn kids into skeletons.
It’s possible and necessary to defend ourselves from our adversaries intentionally and environmentally. But we can’t just keep acting like the only threat we face is in the form of other countries or groups.
Our climate emergency represents just as big a threat as a superpower
We have to dismantle the system that enables the NRA to pay off our politicians and oil companies to trade in our future for this quarters profit.
Our generation was born into a world full of problems we didn’t create but we have no choice to solve or die trying.
We’re going need to be to be a lot better organized and strategic. They have 1000x the funding we do so we need to figure out how to get them to waste 99.99% of their resources. While relying on what we have but they don’t- the people.
We’re going to need to get a lot better at organizing and gathering intelligence. We will need to have strong leadership, longterm planning and prioritization of our goals.
I’m on the last page of this paper on Florynce Kennedy’s use of storytelling in her book Abortion Rap and need a way to really pull together a compelling conclusion.
