2. Nkem Okeke, the deputy governor of the state, defected to the APC weeks before the election and many thought it would weaken APGA. But did it? Well, he lost in his polling unit.

The returning officer for Idemili South says there were incidents of "no election" in three registration areas (RAs). He also says there was violence and snatching of election materials in the Oba area of the LGA.
Florence Obi, vice-chancellor of the University of Calabar and the state returning officer for the governorship election, has announced a one-hour break. The exercise will continue at 3:30pm.

Chukwuma Soludo, the APGA candidate, contested for governor on the PDP platform in 2010.
Andy Uba was a Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in 2010.
Peter Obi, who was in APGA at the time, won the 2010 election.
Chris Ngige, the current minister of labour and employment, was the candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in 2010.
Anambra has been an APGA state since 2010.
Update: The BVAS system has been malfunctioning, making the process a slow one. Only two people have been accredited. The INEC officials here say they’ve contacted the office for a replacement. #AnambraDecides2021
