So, Twitter, is this @GavinNewsom? In the 1st pic, look to the right of the bride, to the couple in the 2nd row I think it is. Gavin and Jen, next to London Breed? In the 2nd pic, look behind the bride's dad. Bride is Ivy Getty. vogue.com/slideshow/insi…
Actually looks like it's third row.
And, if it is him and his wife - and it absolutely looks like it is - why all the secrecy over the last 11 or so days? Why not just say, "I'm going to an event on the anniversary of the French Laundry dinner that makes the French Laundry look positively pedestrian"?
And... correction, bride's grandfather. Her father died last year.
It's curious that the story was posted this afternoon, after we posted the procedure for his fitness to be evaluated by CA Supreme Court and the CA press were clamoring for a real answer. Vogue wouldn't have printed it w/o Newsom's OK...
By late afternoon Sen. Pres Toni Atkins (who would have chaired any committee looking into Newsom's fitness) had been pressed for a statement from a San Diego/Sacramento political reporter:
And just around the same time Atkins' statement was tweeted (which would have been given earlier), one of the Newsom admin's favorite reporters in Sacramento (i.e., the news is planted through her) tweeted out the Vogue link.
This is a 100% serious question. Is there a method by which the legislature can compel the Governor's office to disclose the Governor's location and whether he is physically/mentally capable of running the state?
So, according to this, the legislature as a body can't do anything. The Commission on the Governorship, which is the Senate Pres, Assembly Speaker, UC President, CSU Chancellor, and Director of Finance, can inquire into such matters. Who are these ppl? law.justia.com/codes/californ…
Senate President Pro Tem = Toni Atkins, Dem
Speaker of Assembly = Anthony Rendon (who's in scotland)
UC President = Dr. Michael V. Drake ucop.edu/president/abou….
CSU Chancellor = Dr. Joseph I. Castro calstate.edu/csu-system/cha…
Remembering the hour that, 3 years ago, I was powering down my computer to go to sleep but heard sirens blaring from the fire station next to my subdivision. They were headed to #Borderline where 12 innocent members of the community had been slaughtered.
I barely slept that night as it was quickly apparent that neighbors and lifelong friends were impacted. A dear friend lost her childrens' babysitter and youth leader, Noel Sparks, she'd hugged just hours earlier.
I recalled the evenings and birthdays I'd spent at Borderline, picturing the interior of the bar and imagining how people would try to escape the carnage quickly.
Oh my gosh. @KatieHill4CA stop playing the victim. When I call out your collusion with a "journalist" to start a fake conspiracy story that you ultimately sued me over and that you're now having a baby with him, you decide to go to poor me mode. 🧵
Luckily ppl see through your lies and manipulation, and I can play the "remember when" thing too. Remember when you, @Breznican, and Stephen Daniels worked to place lie-filled hit pieces about me after Daniels warned me to back off printing about your sexual harassment of staff?
Speaking of staff, how are your former staffers doing, esp the 2 who paid the highest price? You weren't even decent enough to make sure they had jobs or access to mental health care they might need while you converted your campaign $ into a paycheck. nypost.com/2020/04/25/all…
We now have proof that the girl did, indeed sleep w/him. Playboy's Alex Thomas dreamed up a conspiracy btwn me and the NRCC to take down his then-secret girlfriend, Katie Hill, and pub'd in his "newsletter." Katie sued me based on this fake conspiracy and lost her baseless suit🧵
...and now owes me $85k+$10k in collection costs so far. And now she's having a baby with the guy who flipped off every bit of journalistic ethics in his coverage of her and even broke federal wiretapping laws.
Guess what her next excuse will be for ignoring a court judgment?
Laughably, Donahue's 2nd in command said the Hilux would be placed in 82nd ABN Museum at Ft Bragg, NC, as a symbol of "regaining the tactical advantage from the Taliban." To which 1 soldier said, “Nothing says American success and prosperity like a ZU-23 in the back of a Hilux.”
In 1 presser Gen. McKenzie said Taliban were not told the exact time US would be leaving Kabul airport, but in another said Donahue was "coordinating" w/a Taliban commander "abt the time that we were going to leave." Witnesses say Donahue gave Taliban manifests for last 5 flights
including passport, photo, biometric info. 50 Afghans employed by US gov't were abandoned, in addition to up to 50 more evacuees that included key HUMINT sources, SIV applicants, and their families. It's not difficult to guess what will happen to them given the info Taliban has.
In Jan '19 @GavinNewsom's spox claimed Newsom ponied up $3.7M of his own cash to buy a Sacramento estate but in July '20 the SacBee that actually, Newsom's cousin Jeremy Scherer floated them the cash b/c the Newsoms didn't have time to get a mortgage... redstate.com/jenvanlaar/202…
And instead of, I dunno, telling the sellers of the vacant home that they needed a few more wks to get a mortgage, or having the cousin purchase the house in his own name, they went through the convoluted, expensive, and tax-paperwork-intensive process of creating an LLC to...
..purchase the home. Some argue it was for privacy purposes. But the Newsoms transferred the home OUT of the LLC and into their names just 10 mos later, then got a $2.7M cashout refi. If they paid that to Scherer, where's the other million? And why is none of it on their taxes?
