A few weeks ago, I tweeted about the seemingly odd announcement of Emily Burns’ run for Congress.

She is a conservative Republican, known for her strong anti-mask views, running in the deep blue MA-4 district.

1/
As I noted, Burns’ campaign is being run by Axiom Strategies.

They are a conservative firm that handled Ted Cruz’s failed 2016 presidential bid.

Burns’ website is even registered directly to Axiom Strategies, who created it on September 7.

Guess who else’s campaign was run by Axiom/Jeff Roe?

Glenn Youngkin.

MG: “Extremism leads to lots of collateral damage”

Also MG: check out my new interview with know disinfo machine The Epoch Times!

Full video interview here:

FWIW this appears to be a newly uploaded 8 hours ago. The original video from yesterday had 70+ comments and ~3,600 views when I last looked at it. Not sure why it was taken down and uploaded again. Appears unchanged.

2/
This interview is all over the place, but MG’s main point seems to be that parents won’t get their kids vaccinated if it doesn’t also mean removing masks in school.

“So we have to link those two things. Vaccination. Normal life.”

A popular talking point at the moment is that this is now a “pandemic of the unvaccinated”.

As some of us know, these claims are based on misleading math. When we see a number like 99%, it’s usually because a statistically irrelevant (far larger) denominator is being used.

Frustratingly, @CDCgov and local public health agencies have intentionally not collected breakthrough data, or withheld it from the public.

Fortunately, @lapublichealth gave us a peek into the current rate of breakthrough cases yesterday by accident.

2/
In Friday’s daily press release, LADPH reorted the total number of breakthrough cases.

A reply from @CoolingFan_ helpfully pointed out that they had also given us a breakthrough total on July 8! Let’s crunch some numbers, shall we?
