Fact-checking live is something I want to bring to the podcast...that said, some example facts regarding Laura Loomer's comments in our interview...

Correction: Muhammad is not the most popular boys name in the UK, it is 10th. This is an islamophobic lie.
bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan…
Variations of the name Muhammad grouped together, would have made it the most popular name.

That said, who cares? The UK is a multi-cultural society and there are bad eggs from all communities, races, sexes and religions.
Correction: There are no "Muslim no-go zones" in the UK. I challenge anyone to provide me evidence of one and I will go there.

Tommy Robinson was arrested and sent to jail for contempt of court, "over a video he broadcast on Facebook which featured defendants in a criminal trial."

This was in breach of a reporting ban, which exists to support the prosecution.
independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/…
The judge stated that his actions “gave rise to a real risk the course of justice would be seriously impeded”

Fun fact: Tommy Robinson changed his name from Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon, I wonder why.
I reflect on interviews. With Laura Loomer, my biggest lesson is that with a tricky guest making big claims, it is important to have a producer available to fact-check and hold the guest to account.

We are working on making this part of our production.

Context: these binary takes are great for audience capture when the reality is Covid is complicated. Some people clearly should be vaccinated and others not.

Some people have been injured and died from the vaccine and vice versa with Covid.
Just for the record, I don't support mandates or passports. Just some recognition that this is complicated for many.

Head back to the UK today, nearly three months away, the longest I’ve done.

Amazing trip but physically and mentally broken. Need to go and recharge.

It’s been so good to see so many #bitcoin people. Keep stacking gang.
Being away from your family for so long is tough.

Living out of hotel rooms and taking so many flights lumping bags around is tough.

Lack of routine with diet, physical fitness and mental well being isn’t great.

Probably the last time I do a trip like this.
From next year we will go to one city and base ourselves there for a month. The plan is to build a studio and fly guests in.

We can maintain a quality over the production and keep in the best physical form.

Hopefully guests will make the journey to come on the pod.

@jack is the opposite of self-serving. He’s clearly mission driven to fix money and not enrich himself further.

Pathetic analysis.

Next Thursday I will be hosting a first WBD Live in Nashville with @PrestonPysh and @MartyBent.

50 tickets are available at $75 each.

Why charge? At my previous free events, half the people don't turn up. The ticket fee covers the venue, food and beer.

eventbrite.co.uk/e/what-bitcoin…
Note that any profits that remain will be put behind the bar for anyone who wants to stay out drinking else it will be donated to open source dev.
This is a test to see if there is an appetite for these live events. If there is then I'll do more in the future.

Debating toxicity has people talking past each other.

1. There is toxic behaviour which accepts no bullshit from nefarious actors who may attack #bitcoin.

2. There is a small group who have taken this to harass people across all manner of societal and political issues.
I imagine many of those concerned with toxicity have an issue with (2) and are fine with (1).

I imagine those defending toxicity are defending (1) may also not agree with (2).

There is a small group of morons who think by doing (2) they are helping (1).
I think a lot of this comes from 2017 PTSD. I was new and didn’t understand the issues fully.

There were people such as @BitcoinErrorLog, @adam3us, @eric_lombrozo and many others who stood firm.

Their arguments rational and blunt. They do not harass people.

1/ The Crypto war is over, perhaps it is time to rethink our models.

#bitcoin has won the war for sound money v forks/protocols.

There are now two wars that remain:
- #bitcoin v central banking
- Crypto protocol v crypto protocol
2/ The war for money was won because of a fixed monetary policy, network effects and decentralisation.

#bitcoin forks failed to create a network effect and smart contract platforms failed on decentralisation.

This is good for everyone.
3/ Arguing #bitcoin v smart contract platform is like arguing tanks v boats.

The crypto war is over, everyone needs sound money and #bitcoin won this.

For #bitcoin v central banking, everyone has a vested interest in #bitcoin winning this war.
