this is what i want to see. let’s just start dropping the predator in different periods of time. give me a predator set in meiji-era japan, or one set in the late republic era of rome.
for what it’s worth, i really liked that PREDATORS movie, the one with adrian brody
yeah, from the predator’s perspective humanity is just like, the ultimate hunting challenge. and so every so often some top predator warrior shows up on earth to prove their worth
i would absolutely watch the hell out of a predator v highlander movie

a handful of other people in the theater with me and they are mad there weren’t any connections to other movies in the MCU

i'm sorry, 12 gallons of milk?
like, if every member of a family of six had one eight ounce glass of milk for every meal on every day of the week, you'd still only need about 8 gallons of milk a week
fair enough. even then, this is an exceptional family! not sure they should be used as emblematic.

one way to look at the virginia outcome, if you are a republican, is that you don't need Trump for turnout, and that there's nothing to fear from liberalized voting laws. persuasion still works, and you can succeed in a high turnout election.

will never stop being mad that this guy moved here last year, bought one of the most expensive homes in the city, and then promptly started to try to dictate how this place should operate (to protect his property investment, of course)
relatedly, here is one of the flyers that have been going around town. i can see why the people behind this group want to remain anonymous. they’re liars. Image
although, lmao at the idea that it is a “radical experiment” to end single-family zoning and allow modest multi-family housing throughout the city. most neighborhoods in the city have multi-family structures and you’d barely notice them.

i guess it's now "pure gaslighting" to ask people to substantiate their claims with evidence
instead accepting, uncritically, the claims of republican operatives in northern virginia, maybe our intrepid reporter could do a little reporting and find out what is actually being taught as part of the state's history curricula.
course guides for most state school districts are readily available online. most of them look like this. here's virginia beach city public schools standards for US history to 1865.

so we are watching THE SUM OF ALL FEARS because it was in this jack ryan box set i own and ben affleck isn’t even bad it’s just that the character does not work as a young man
the whole point of jack ryan is that he is a middle-aged fantasy. he should be in his mid-thirties at the youngest, well established with his career and family.
harrison ford was so good in part because he could sell with total sincerity the idea that ryan would rather be anywhere doing anything other than being in the thick of the action
