1/ With the recent attempted soft stance on Nazism being pushed by @Jkenney's @UCPCaucus @YourAlberta w/ @AdrianaLaGrange, does anyone one find this particularly disturbing. Disturbing when you think this is a long game /2
2/ A long game in that you don't indoctrinate grade schoolers to win votes in 2 year's time. This is an attempt to soften fascist trends for decades to come. What govt ever plans out past the next election?!? Clearly this isn't in @Alberta_UCP's best interest /3
3/ And would @jkenney put such a big target on his back, or even try a blatantly wrong ideological move, when it's doubtful he thinks he can win another election? Who would benefit from such a political move? /4
4/ Well, we know @jkenney is good friends with @StephenHarper (our former neo-con prime minister, Albertan economist) and employs his son. @StephenHarper just so happens to be chairperson of the @idualliance. /5
5/ The IDU just so happens to be HQ'ed out of Munich (birthplace of the above mentioned Nazis, who the UCP wants to be soft on, even so far as promoting their history). When look at the IDU's membership (idu.org/members/) its a who's who of Neo-con politicos. /6
6/ It was formed in 1983 and tangentially states its primary goal is to help neo-con governments gain power. /7
7/ Now, I don't have the research skills to do the deep dive. But it would be interesting to see where the IDU gets it's money, how it spends it money and whether it is influencing policy in countries where it has influence. /8
8/ It would be interesting to see if all member parties in power are trying to push a soft stance on fascism. Because, while political parties can't typically have a 20 year plan because of democratic election processes...a non-elected neo-con agency like this certainly could
