i love this issue. its kind of a "what if" future where superman runs for president and they determine his eligibility because the "kryptonian birthing matrix" opened on earth so they considered him technically earth born.
via @ReadingSuperman
theres a great scene where green lantern gives president superman a green lantern ring and superman says, "yeah... that's too much power. no thanks." perfect.
oh heres the scene where scotus rules on superman's presidential eligibility
superman picked a black woman as his running mate 29 years before biden picked harris
the true location of superman's birth was a thing 17 years before birthers

"democrats condemn gop effort to get fbi to ignore threats against parents, teachers" - in my dreams
"as our children return to school after the trump/desantis covid surge, its unconscionable that house republicans are telling the fbi to ignore threats against parents, kids, and schools. its sick and wrong" - this shit writes itself
just because republicans "always do this" and "we expected that" is no reason not to call it out every time. they pitch a fit every time democrats breathe and it generates coverage because friction = coverage.
biden: breathes
the right: there goes open borders biden breathing again as inflation makes hams cost 10 zillion dollars apiece. how dare he keep breathing in and out while caravans of illegals zoom across the open border to enjoy his socialist roads?
u gotta play the game
meanwhile the dem position tends to be: let's wait until just the right second and just the right target to maybe say something but make sure it went through five polls and twenty focus groups so its lost all of its edge and resonance. ok, keep waiting. maybe say it in a day.
"we needed more time to tell you your democracy was under direct assault and that time just coincides with my need to produce a bestseller" - shorter @jonkarl
cant wait to see what more crazed shit reporters are sitting on so they make a splash for their book launches
"then there was the time trump launched a nuke and they had to recall it, thats on page 229. oh yeah, i've known for two years but harpercollins didn't slate my book publishing date until this week."
all the news thats fit to print except for that stuff that makes me go #1 on amazon books
democracy dies in darkness that isn't illuminated until i do an interview pushing the book on the today show
republicans are banning books all over the place. books by all kinds of authors. who knows, they might even ban the bible because it says to help poor people. it would be irresponsible not to speculate.
i dont have to tell you who else in history banned books. ill be damned if i let them get ahold of my danielle steele or my bible. no book bans.
screenshot because @conor64 has me blocked, but this is the whole ballgame. the enslavement of blacks is central to america's founding, just like the desire to get out of british oppression. but stories about the former make guys like conor feel bad so he wants u to stop.
conservatives dont want history. they want fairy tales. they want stories about the founders always doing what is right and ignoring all the people they owned. they want an easy kindergarten narrative instead of the reality of liberty but also thousands of enslaved humans.
the founders set up a legendary framework of liberty. they also owned a ton of human beings who did much of the actual work of building this country. for eons we taught history with the former and pretended away the latter. now that the descendants are speaking up its a problem.
