i love this issue. its kind of a "what if" future where superman runs for president and they determine his eligibility because the "kryptonian birthing matrix" opened on earth so they considered him technically earth born.

just because republicans "always do this" and "we expected that" is no reason not to call it out every time. they pitch a fit every time democrats breathe and it generates coverage because friction = coverage.

cant wait to see what more crazed shit reporters are sitting on so they make a splash for their book launches

republicans are banning books all over the place. books by all kinds of authors. who knows, they might even ban the bible because it says to help poor people. it would be irresponsible not to speculate.
i dont have to tell you who else in history banned books. ill be damned if i let them get ahold of my danielle steele or my bible. no book bans.

screenshot because @conor64 has me blocked, but this is the whole ballgame. the enslavement of blacks is central to america's founding, just like the desire to get out of british oppression. but stories about the former make guys like conor feel bad so he wants u to stop. Image
conservatives dont want history. they want fairy tales. they want stories about the founders always doing what is right and ignoring all the people they owned. they want an easy kindergarten narrative instead of the reality of liberty but also thousands of enslaved humans.
the founders set up a legendary framework of liberty. they also owned a ton of human beings who did much of the actual work of building this country. for eons we taught history with the former and pretended away the latter. now that the descendants are speaking up its a problem.
