Another bizarre statement on the appointment of Cleta Mitchell to the Election Assistant Commission Board of Advisors.

This means absolutely nothing.
Michell was apparently first considered by the @USCCRgov in its April meeting — that mtg and the mtg held to approve her nomination last month are the only two meetings that do not have transcripts up online, and the agendas do not mention her name. usccr.gov/meetings/2021/…
I can find no public mention of Cleta Mitchell's name as the nominee on any USCCR public documentation. It is flatly unclear why her nomination only became public when someone sent me internal documentation 12 days after her appointment became official.
Here is some more from J. Christian Adams, a long time business partner of Cleta Mitchell, who (for transparency's sake) has had me blocked on this website for at least two years and once falsely accused me of lying about my academic pedigree.
USCCR has just provided me with the April transcript, and says it was missing because it "contained grammatical errors" and was never edited beyond the live transcription. Later meetings were posted, so it's not clear why such a thing would take several months.
Well this is something: The other Republican nominee that was tossed in favor of Cleta? J Christian Adams, who neglected to mention that in his tweet to the USCCR, saying he supported her nomination and they could have picked the other republican (which was him) if they'd wanted.

Could not be more *thrilled* with this piece on The Friendly State from @HanaaTameez!

I'm floored at how quickly interest has built in this and it's *not because of me* it is truly because journalism education is broken.

This appears to be a response by the EAC to Cleta Mitchell being appointed to its board of Advisors.

It is correct: The EAC does not have any direct control over who is on this board. The Help America Vote Act allows specific groups the ability to appoint them without review.
That said, it's not clear why this agency waited until 12 days after the appointment was official to tell anyone about it. United States Commission on Civil Rights didn't bother to announce it either.
Fascinating that the agency, 12 days after the appointment is official, still hasn't even said her name publicly. This is a pretty obvious attempt to distance to agency from Mitchell, and I sympathize: They can't do a single thing about this.

Breaking: Cleta Mitchell — an attorney who who was integral in helping Trump craft the false narrative he won the 2020 election — has been named to the board of advisors for the Election Assistance Commission.
2/ She was appointed effective November 3, but the EAC just announced her nomination today — 12 days later — in an email to stakeholders. Her term lasts until 2023.
3/ Mitchell's most notable contribution to the 2020 discourse was helping Trump strong arm Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, on a phone call in which he asked him to "find" some votes for him. washingtonpost.com/politics/trump…

MY PIPES ARE ACTUALLY FINE AND THE PLUMBER FROM YESTERDAY WASNT EVEN LICENSED.

No joke, the plumbing shop I called to give me a second opinion is so mad that the man called the plumber from yesterday in front of me and told him he was filing a complaint with the plumbers board.
Like they rolled in 45 minutes after arriving and said "Your pipes are fine and they are working now," and I looked at them with such shock that they were like "Did someone tell you your pipes weren't working?" and then I showed them a bill for almost 20 thousand dollars.
And then the guy made me pull up the Texas plumbers board website and type the guys number from his card in, and he wasn't there. And then they sat there and looked at the quote together, and then they decided they were not going to let this stand.

i have been thinking about this all day and have nothing to say about the historical accuracy but

this is just fucking hilarious. like this man, in this outfit, saying *this*. Just, jesus. So funny.
like he knew he was gonna say that on this very show and so he put his most Rolling Stone Commentary Giver outfit on and he popped himself back in that chair and perched that knee right up and god damn it, he said it.
and his friend is like "you have convinced me of this" like "oh holy shit here we go with this" and everyone just sits back and is like yep he's going for it and he just kept on doing it
