My Nigeria Unity Agenda: Here’s how, as President, I will unify Nigeria, reunite Nigerians, and kill ethnic tensions:
1. Ensure structural justice and equity and increase economic opportunities in all parts of Nigeria. Support #Restructuring back to real federalism.
2. Fairness to all: Equal treatment under the law (no sacred cows, regardless of ethnic/religious affiliation).

3. Transparency. A leader builds trust when he/she has no hidden agenda and this is obvious in leadership actions and policy.

4. Patriotism education and propagation
of a vision of Nigeria that creates unity of purpose amongst all Nigerians. This will also be propagated using mass and social media (no “Twitter Ban”, instead we will use social media for national healing).
5. Communication. As President I will convincingly articulate a clear vision of Nigeria, communicated directly to our countrymen and women through town hall meetings across the country’s six geopolitical zones, speeches, press conferences, and other fora. We can rise. Yes we can!
6. Encourage healing exercises for the events of January 1966-January 1970, including truth and reconciliation, through public hearings convened by state governments. Rwanda has done this with its post-genocide “Gacaca” trials. I played a role in the international
dimension of this healing process as Legal Adviser & Spokesman for the @UN International Tribunal for Rwanda that indicted and prosecuted the architects of the genocide including former Prime Minister Jean Kambanda, Col. Theoneste Bagasora, Pauline Nyiramasuhuko (former Minister
of Family Welfare and the Advancement of Women!) The International tribunal delivered the first-ever judgment by an international court for the crime of genocide. Other examples of national healing exercises : South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission, Truth and
Reconciliation Commision of The Gambia, and Canada’s Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission. The report of the Human Rights Violations Investigation Commission of Nigeria (Justice Oputa Panel) created by then President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999 to investigate human
rights violations by Nigeria’s military regimes and reconcile communities in conflict, was not implemented, largely because of @SupremeCourtNg decision that state governments, and not @NigeriaGov , had the right under the 1999 Constitution to hold public hearings.
This is my vision for One Nigeria in practice. Unity in action, not “by mouth”. Unity in diversity (restructuring). A country where too much injustice and inequity exists can’t be united. And without unity we can’t achieve much because there is for now now shared vision of what
Nigeria means to each of us, its politics, and its economy. But it can be done. I apply for the job, because it needs to be done. I humbly say: I can.

I drop my mic.
*there is for now no shared vision...*

There are many profiles in courage in the #EndSARS and #LekkiMassacre2020 . The many young men and women who marched peacefully and occupied the toll gate, singing the national anthem and waving our country's flag. The victims who gave their lives for their country.
Then those who played specific, special roles during/after the crisis such as @dj_switchaholic (who exposed the Massacre live) @SavvyRinu @AbdulMahmud01 , members of the Lagos State Judicial Panel who, against all odds and lies from the seats of power, spoke the TRUTH.
Our country owes them all.. I commend them.. Looking back years from now, #EndSARS and the #LekkiMassacre will be the recognized as the seed of the liberation of Nigeria's youth and the country’s citizens from the tyranny and selfishness of Nigeria's corrupt political elite.

1. Now that the Lagos State @followlasg Judicial Panel of Inquiry has affirmed that peaceful Nigerian citizens protesting police brutality were massacred at #Lekkitollgate in Lagos a year ago, the individuals in the @HQNigerianArmy and @PoliceNG who gave the unlawful
orders for the extrajudicial killings — as well as those who pulled the trigger — must pay for their crimes with prosecution and punishment.

2. As I said when the news of the killings broke to the world, these are violations of international humanitarian law in addition to
national laws. This was mass murder, and attempted mass murder, pure and simple. The perpetrators must not go free, and adequate restitution— which is also within the mandate of the judicial panel — must be made to all the protesters who were murdered in cold blood, injured, or

Until we take back our power in our struggling democracy, instead of surrendering it to the money and “structures” of political oligarchs, we will keep complaining about bad governance. We’re the voters, therefore na we be the “structure”, therefore na we suppose decide!
Good political organization matters. Any serious candidate must work on that. But that’s a different thing from us as people suspending what must be our serious judgment about who is the better CANDIDATE for an office, and then voting for corrupt, incompetent life time politicians
because they have “structure”. And then complain that our country is in bad shape. Who put it in bad shape? Us, in the beginning, by allowing the wrong persons to be at the helm. By our decisions, or the reluctance to decide in favor of competence and vision.

The Future of Nigeria’s Youth: The Promise of a Kingsley Moghalu Presidency

Press and Public Statement by Professor Kingsley Moghalu OON, Presidential Aspirant and Member of the African Democratic Congress @ADCNig

(Oxford, 20 October 2021).
A year ago, Nigerian youth organized themselves in the peaceful #EndSARS protests to demand freedom from police brutality. Quite sadly, the bravery of the young compatriots was met by even more brutality. Like millions of fellow citizens, and indeed our youth, I especially
remember those who paid who paid the ultimate price for freedom during the protest. Their sacrifice will not be forgotten or in vain.

Nigeria’s young men and women face many fundamental challenges. The strength of their numbers (nearly 70% of our population) is supposed to be

Today I began my engagement as an Academic Visitor @UniofOxford for the Michelmas Term (October 2021-December 2021). As the Oxford Martin Visiting Fellow at Oxford's @oxmartinschool, I will give a public lecture on a topic of political economy, lead a seminar, interact and share
perspectives with Oxford faculty members and and students, and finish two books I have been working on. And I will engage with political, business and civil society leaders in the UK. Nice to spend time in this venerable, 800 year old institution. I will enjoy the experience.
Ricardo Soares, Professor of African Politics at Oxford's Department of Politics and International Relations, welcomed me with lunch and a tour of the university and the Oxford Martin School, where the largest philanthropic gift in the university's history by billionaire James
