The Black Liberation & Indigenous Sovereignty (BLIS) Priority Campaign is postponing this event and rescheduling it to December 4 at 3:30 pm in order to give members and trainers time to process and respond to this week’s events. dsasf.org/racialcapitali…
From police violence in our own city to the unchecked violence by white supremacists against protestors, to the violence against Indigenous people fighting against the capitalist destruction and expropriation of our planet, this week has been heavy for all of us.
Our priority campaign arose in part out of the recognition that policing and the carceral system are tools of white supremacy that will never serve Black and Indigenous folks, working class folks, poor people, or those who fight against the interests of the wealthy/elite class.
We send our strength and power to all who stand up against these systems and hope our comrades are able to take care of themselves as needed this weekend.
Hope is a discipline, but it is okay to feel rage and grief at a system that fails to meet our community’s needs and will never keep all of us safe.
We hope to schedule a support session for comrades in the near future, but in the meantime, we encourage chapter members to join our priority Slack channel #priority-black-liberation-indigenous-sovereignty to discuss timing or just to be in (virtual) community with us.

There’s a lot of confusion right now around the housing shortage that capitalists created, and specifically about our endorsed Supervisor @DeanPreston , so let’s talk housing, and how to provide it at scale. 🧵currentaffairs.org/2021/11/san-fr…
Yesterday Dean Preston's appropriation request PASSED out of committee for the city to help acquire apartment buildings to provide housing for people, not for profit. This is the bold and pragmatic leadership that comes from having a socialist in power.
It is undeniable that this city is in a housing crisis. While rental units and commercial space sits empty, housing prices have escalated to the point where only 7% of San Francisco workers can afford the median cost of housing in their own city. sfccho.org/housing-our-wo…
What we saw earlier this week was yet another failed attempt by the US empire to suppress the Cuban people with increased sanctions while refusing to end the longest embargo in modern history. 🇨🇺🧵
This effort, which was backed by the State Dept, CIA, and other US agencies, was an attempt to destabilize Cuba and to justify US aggression. Here you hear the state dept press sec. claiming this will “advance the cause of democracy on the island”.
Obviously, that is contradictory to the US’s long history of imposing sanctions on Cuba & what the Cuban people need. If Cuba really is a “failed state”, why does the US need to blockade the island? Why is US empire so focused on Cuba's democracy while refusing to fix their own?
Right now, the most important factor in everything going on in Cuba is the U.S. economic warfare in the form of sanctions and embargo.
Much like how the U.S. historically blockaded Caribbean countries with warships, today this takes the form of an economic siege, denying the Cuban people much-needed medicine and goods.
