What happened in Waukesha during the parade is terrible. It reminded me of the day my wife and I were in NYC when someone rented a home improvement store’s truck and drove it through a bike path. This is a watch what they do thread🧵👇🏻

Prior to the above, in August of 2017 in Charlottesville, VA, white supremacist James Fields drove his car into a peaceful protest. Protestors were out to condemn a recent tiki torch lit display of white supremacy.

If an out of towner can render medical aid with an AR15, what is to stop an out of towner from driving through a protest? Certainly not the laws in OK or FL, because they have passed laws that would 🗣PROTECT THE DRIVERS.

These laws are ‘chilling’. On their face, they are chilling, but chilling in this sense that protestors are now taking a risk in those states to walk down the street in the knowledge that a vehicle may come speeding through at any moment, without consequences for the driver.

This has the impact of people potentially not exercising their 1st amendment right to peacefully assemble and free speech. So when they tell you @TheDemocrats are taking away your freedoms, know it is the Republican led states that are *actually* eroding your 1st amendment right.

By making laws to protect the violent, the state is condoning violence. That makes it a fascist state. We can’t afford for these laws to stand. They are a form of intimidation. Once they clear peaceful demonstrators from the streets, they will be free to patrol them as they wish.

We will be walking around a police state where the rules will favor those in power. We will go from a place where masks were called tyranny, to where we won’t be able to see their eyes. They will don masks for anonymity, not public safety?

The vigilante is being deputized. Texas has already done so with SB8. Other states will follow. We must begin to understand that by the time the masses are made aware of fascism, it will already have taken hold. Fascism is not coming, it is here. For more on how media failed.👇🏻
