Last night I was debilitated by anxiety. Woke up at 1:30 and couldn’t sleep for almost one hour with all bad thoughts going through mind. Everything around me is perfect honestly but the fear of losing this is what anxiety is. I was worried if I have a product failure, a
customer going bankrupt and all the rubbish things. I know many amongst us go through these thoughts. So decoding anxiety and how to cope with it
Anxiety is simply living in future state worrying about something that has not actually happened. Basically rehearsing failure. We need to break this cycle. It does not serve us. The best way to break it is to replace the thought. Repeating positive affirmations.
The affirmation will make me feel good. Expand. Make me constructive. I know I can tackle the challenge if it ever comes. I handle physical effect of anxiety with meditation. Play some mantra or chant and repeat. You can control your Neuro chemistry with meditation
Breathing from diaphragm is profound. It is a game changer. You will return to calmness fast.
Remember anxiety also serves evolutionary purpose. Mild anxiety is useful. It makes sure you are prepared. You take seriously and act today such that chances of that happening is gone.
You will need to master your anxiety. Action cures all worries. Leverage the anxiety. Implement the tools and work needed to full proof failure. You can progress better. Spend time and energy on repeating positivity. Rehearse success.

We should build a community where health is top priority.If you are not healthy you are going to struggle whole your life. Medical science is good at curing diseases eg pneumonia - few pills and its sorted.
Medical science can honestly not do much about lifestyle diseases like Type 2 diabetes or Alzheimers. It can at best try to make your pain less. But if we care for ourselves everyday, we may not have these diseases.
When we talk of living a meaningful life, good health is an ingredient of that. Our relationships, stress, lifestyle are major contributor to our health. Medical science is downstream work. Honestly speaking you have more control on your health than you think of.

I see younger version of me in one of my mentee. Maybe working 100 hours a week, available 24 X 7 to his work. Being workaholic is celebrated in our society. Another mentee I advised to delete all mail apps on phone for better focused work and he was shocked.
Addiction to work has same effect on the brain like say cocaine or any other drug. I was in the same rat hole. And as with drugs a big crash is round the corner. I had written a blog on this few years back sandeepmall.com/why-exercising…
When I wanted to change my work schedule to spend more time with family or myself & would say that to customers. they would get offended and think that I don't care for their business anymore. I eventually resorted to saying, I have other engagements, which met little resistance

How to get back in shape - at any age. More so if you are 40+
Most of us will hit the gym or try to start eating healthy. In most cases, this will come to an abrupt end after 2 or 3 weeks, when you get tired of eating salad, and you’re so sore you can hardly move.
Step 1 - Get your mindset right. Essentially, you need to ask yourself an important question, which is “Why?”.If your answer is a flimsy one, like “Because I want to look good”, it will only keep you going for so long. Make a mission statement. Write it down. Pin it.
Firstly,think about what your current habits towards healthy eating &exercise are costing you. Think about the emotional,physical cost & the time cost.Then, visualize and imagine what the benefits will be if you change your habits and achieve your goals. Add these to your mission

Life experiences is one of the advantages that comes with age. Here are some truths about getting older
1) The stronger you get when you are younger, the easier the aging process will be. Satellite cells function starts to reduce with age and that makes muscle building difficult
2) If you are in your 20s and 30s, start getting strong now. The quality of your life later on will be much better if you start now.
3) Strength training is the fountain of youth. The benefits of strength training go far beyond physical strength. Please lift.
4) Your body needs adequate rest. Don’t over do. Growth happens when in rest.
5) Our minds can be one age, our bodies another. Embrace & respect them both.
6) As you age there are some exercises that you should let go. Choose bang for buck.

Eye sight and movement are the two most important blessings we have that not taken care of can make us dependent on others. Some of us have started doing things that will help in better movement but we are getting worse and worse towards eye care.
There is no replacement for spending most of our wake up time looking at screen now. But if we can do our visual behaviour right we can handle it properly. Taking care of eye is of utmost importance for anything we do. Here are some protocols that can help.
1. Spend 10 minutes outdoor in early part of the day when sun is still low in the sky. Don’t look directly in the sun. If you can’t see sunlight if there is a cloud cover spend some more time. If u can do it again during sunset that’s bonus.

1/3 of fat = saturated fat
< 300 mg/d cholesterol
5g/kg body weight/day(1 gm =4 kCal) Range 2-7g/kg Females may /may not need 1-3 g/kg/d more.
<10% from added sugar. Less better.
Your training type also will matter. If u r doing for building muscles or endurance.
