I don't think there's an easy, universally applicable answer. Especially en masse where there's positive reinforcement from, and safety in, numbers. I've touched on the difficulty in a previous thread that contrasted the one-on-one versus collective difficulties.....1/

There may be some utility in redirecting/using the masculinity angle to create an aversion to embracing victimhood. For example....3/

I was recently a "plus 1" at a retirement party. A doctor who makes $500K/year (who I first met when I was working construction for 35K/year while in grad school) expected me to agree with his comments about the persecution of white guys *like us*.

My response (paraphrasing): 4/

"Nothing feels more pathetic than if I'm crying about being a victim. I've been through enough shit to last 3 lifetimes, & the only reason I made it through (I'm still grinding through it) is b/c I refuse to whine about how unfair my life is".

It got awkwardly quiet after that.
