Not a ton of thoughts on this game. Miami missed a bunch of FTs or some of the fantasy lines could have been a bit more decent.
Adebayo's assists are near 4 over the last 2 weeks, but his knee continues to concern me. Probably just...
... hold your breath and hope he doesn't miss many more games for it because the other stuff is moving in the direction we wanted/expected.
For the Pistons, I'm enjoying the Cory Joseph stream with Killian Hayes out. Make sure to yank CoJo the moment Killian returns.
Oh, I forgot, I wanted to talk Frank Jackson. I'm not adding him until I see what his role looks like with Hayes back but they've been shoveling opportunity his way of late. Watch list him.
Lakers are the Lakers. No changes there. I tried to tell y'all to SELL on THT after that 2-game schwing but yeah, he didn't just magically become a great 3-pt shooter and profiles as a role player that'll trend down further when Nunn eventually comes back.
I do have some thoughts on the Knicks that I'll expand upon on tomorrow's podcast, but the very short version is this is where I ended up on the team:
Randle, Robinson, Noel - good
Burks - adding for now
Kemba, Fournier, Rose - waiver wire
But Dan, you say, Fournier was...
good in this one! Yes, he was, but getting hot doesn't change how little he's been playing late, and Rose is sometimes the guy taking those late-game mins from the starters (and he was out).
Kemba just has no explosion left, which is sorta sad. I was hoping for more.
So yes, after much back-and-forth in my own head, I'm okay with utilizing those 3 waiver wire guys as solid streaming options (if we think Kemba plays b2b's going forward), but Burks is the guy winning that fantasy battle among them right now.
Could it change? Of course. I'm not claiming ROS value on Alec, but I like where he's at and he seems to have Thibs' trust. Plus, he's taking threes now which he didn't do 2-3 seasons back. Nice FT guy, gets some steals. There's a usefulness in that combo.
Portland got the Sixers missing their starting 5 and now the Nuggets missing most of theirs. PJ Dozier went down mid-game for good measure. Or bad measure, I guess. Poor Nugs.
Jokic is day-to-day at this point, so I'm not sure I'd go bargain-hunting since his return pretty much shifts everything back to him, but it also opens up some better looks for the other guys. So let's say this: if Jokic comes back, he and Barton are obviously starts, AND...
Probably Monte Morris, too, but there's just no excitement at all in it, so I have zero issue with all of us just saying 'screw it' and going with the main 2 guys and flipping casually past the rest.
CJ and Dame did damage for Portland. They're 36 and 37 in 9-cat, respectively. Nice to see Dame slowly working his way up the board. Dame is the #4 player in fantasy the last 2 weeks.
Our friend RoCo had another nice game and the first 2 weeks of complete crap are a distant memory. He's been rolling in that 60-70 range for 2-3 weeks now, and that'll play even a hair better than we expected.
Aren't you glad you held on just that little bit longer when half the fantasy community was saying to move on? It doesn't always work, but man, those bad drops always sting the worst. Patience, folks. Patience.
Meanwhile, Larry Nance Jr. saw his mins trimmed in this one, though he still managed a few stats to stave off disaster. I'd like to see that get back into the 20's in the next one again, so let's just keep an eye on it. I still think we hold. He has been quite good of late.
Been getting a lot of questions on Nurk. He was always a very risky grab on draft night. He's #60 in 9-cat on the year, and he could easily go in either direction. I actually think he might trend down, but I'm okay with just holding and seeing where it heads. I'm not buying.
Jalen Brunson went down with a foot thing, but he's a HOLD. Was playing way too well to punt on that run. Let's hope it's not too long. Mavs are off for a few days if I recall... THJ stands to benefit if he misses time.
Marcus Morris Sr. returned for LAC and played, well, quite a lot. I'm not sold on his 9-cat value, but given we all enjoy the mystery of the unknown you could probably add and just see what happens. Probably ends up in that 120 range but works in points formats a bit better.
Reggie Jackson is on a little mini-heater, too. We really just need a couple games where he does something besides score at a bad FG% clip and he'll push back into that 90-range. Maybe this is that run? He's been a hold since day 1 but just nice to see some payoff.
And then Zubac was another player to keep an eye on with Serge (6 robust mins) and Morris back in the fold. Zu still saw 26 mins but didn't play any late. He's a hold for now but I am a bit concerned that his 28mpg run might be getting shaved a bit.
Okay, onto the next one!
Oh wait, Kleber. He had a good one. He does this sometimes. Not entirely sure what happened with Dwight Powell. I didn't see any news but maybe I missed it. Kleber has amazing fantasy potential but is generally in a 3-center timeshare.
He's worth an add if you can. I don't EXPECT he'll just get all the mins going forward. There's some matchup stuff happening, but if he can somehow win the gig, we'll be thankful we took a shot.
Please read carefully. I said I DON'T expect. If you check the game log from the beginning of the year the mins on Kleber bounced between 16 and 29. Hot hand stuff. Classic.
Okay now done for real this time.

Look at big JaVale. Hah! I have a soft spot for him, and honestly he hasn't been that bad lately. He's a dynamite fill-in if Ayton misses time again down the road. In the interim, he's more of a 14 or 16 teamer. Still fun, though.
Kevin Love is very much in the streamer discussion but not a games cap level guy. Jarrett Allen's FG% is robust. But overall, no particularly earth-shattering fantasy valuation changes.
LMA played great again and he's absolutely a must-start guy in games cap formats. Harder to deal with on the rest days in h2h but he's been so good lately he probably hangs on even there. Mills is a nice stream with Harris out.
Markkanen and Allen came back from various illnesses and looked great. Fire 'em up! Kevin Love is somehow hanging onto deep league value but his little baby-sized window to play more is gone. As is Ed Davis. Isaac Okoro needs to show me more consistency before I add there.
