Look at big JaVale. Hah! I have a soft spot for him, and honestly he hasn't been that bad lately. He's a dynamite fill-in if Ayton misses time again down the road. In the interim, he's more of a 14 or 16 teamer. Still fun, though.
Kevin Love is very much in the streamer discussion but not a games cap level guy. Jarrett Allen's FG% is robust. But overall, no particularly earth-shattering fantasy valuation changes.
LaMelo tried to "oop" it to himself and biffed it. It's basically his only mistake of any kind all year.
Terry Rozier went NUTSO and Cody Martin has quietly been edging toward value but I think we can leave Martin in that streamer bucket for now.
@hornets The Magic are still just the main 4 guys (and Cole Anthony is out, so really, 3, right now). Jalen Suggs is a points-league option with Anthony out. Gary Harris is not.
@hornets And I'll add that Franz Wagner has been trending the wrong way for a bit, too, so he probably also looms more in the streamer zone, too...
This game was weirdly like the Mavs/Clips game yesterday where the home team hit an insane shot to send the game to OT and then that same team just got stomped in the extra 5.
Analysis? LeBron remains good.
But more than that... he's hitting FTs so far.
@hornets He's just below 80%. No idea if it holds. It probably won't. But it's great so far. Also, the Lakers are now 6-3 in the 9 games he's played so maybe the doom/gloom stuff can hold off a bit?
Remember on the pod in July I said it would take this team to Christmas to sort things...
@hornets ...it'll probably be longer than that given how much time Bron has missed so far already.
As far as fantasy goes, THT has been very, very bad after those 2 big games and I'm okay with a drop if you want. I'm going to hold Melo a little longer though.
@hornets Wayne Ellington got 30 mins of floor-spacing fun and Malik Monk probably played the hardest of any Laker and earned 34 strong mins. He might have some short term appeal if he continues to outplay the other guards/wings, but I'm not wasting a waiver wire move on it.
@hornets For Indy, TJ McConnell looked a bit more like himself picking on the Lakers fluffy perimeter D and just walking past them. He can stay a hold or if you prefer to just stream, that's also fine.
@hornets LeVert isn't right but you can't do anything besides hold and hope, there.
And then Justin Holiday has completely abandoned getting steals or he might be pushing himself into a conversation.
Patty Mills stream is golden. LMA moving into the starting lineup is neat. DeAndre' Bembry is trying to make some noise but Bruce Brown coming back squeezes him out, and we also know if he takes any FTs he blows up his value. I'll pass on the stream.
@hornets Tatum crapped the bed after 4-5 huge games, so it'll be fine.
Marcus Smart, who I kept calling a BUY LOW for the past 2 weeks, is now #65 and he is no longer a buy low. Window... shut.
This is actually a pretty dang nice win for Toronto. On the pod I mentioned Precious Achiuwa as a potential winner with OG hurt and we saw it here, though apparently OG isn't THAT badly hurt so I'm not sure I make the add knowing the timeline is short.
If you're holding onto something totally useless, go for it, but that would be all.
Also, apologies, I accidentally tagged the Hornets on a few of those instead of hash-tagging. Oops. I'm tired. forgive me.
The Grizz were decent but couldn't stop Toronto at all... at least those games lead to fantasy stuff. JJJ, Ja, Bane are easy starts. Brooks is probably a start as well, and then Brandon Clarke has been on the upswing and a guy we've had an eye on for a while.
Toronto played pretty small so that helped the cause here, but I do think we've seen enough to say to go ahead and grab him. Just to see what happens.
Bucks seem to be awake lately. Pistons were terrible and I don't even know what to make of this mess. Just pretend it didn't happen, probably.
And on the Bucks side, I think it may be time to move on from Grayson Allen. He was an awesome long-stream.
But now that Jrue is back and rolling, and Middleton is getting his shots, and Portis is jacking away... there's just nothing left. And without high efficiency 3-balls, Grayson turns into a pumpkin quick.
You can bench if you prefer, but I think the rope is out.
I worry we might be witnessing the front end of a Wizards regression. Maybe not. Either way, they all stunk. Beal needs to do more when his guys don't have that extra pop. Oh well.
Josh Hart is looking like another of the season's finest longstreams. Just keep enjoying that mega-surge as long as it goes.
Thunder announced they're going to take it slow with SGA's ankle... presumably because they accidentally won a few games, but either way this is good news for Josh Giddey. Fire him up.
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl continues to impress and as the starting center, as soon as he gets the "C" eligibility on Yahoo, things really pick up.
I added him in a few spots back on Sunday night (as I talked about on the Monday pod), and you probably can too at this point.
Hassan Whiteside got tossed so Rudy Gobert got to play 39 mins! Oh my
He's now #14 per-game in 9-cat. YOUR HATRED FOR MY RUDY LOVE ONLY FUELS ME.
Hahaha, the Jazz are so boring for fantasy purposes I need to give myself a chuckle...
This was a monumental oopsies game for Chicago but they'll be fine. Vuc still can't hit a shot but he remains a BUY LOW target because all the other stuff is right where it needs to be (aside from lower shots/game, which we knew had to happen).
The Rockets shifted Wood up to center to try to wake him up and it seemed to work a bit. Theis ended up with a DNP and Sengun saw a couple mins less because it wasn't a blowout.
This is excellent news for Wood. Hang tight and let's hope this helps.
Jalen Green hurt his leg but you probably shouldn't have been starting him anyway. And that goes for all of these guys, really.
Miami has been taking intermittent games off lately, and you know Spo isn't pleased with that lack of focus. Also, BAM, what the hell, buddy? Got himself a 1-day case of the FT bug? Blech to the Heat entire roster, here.
In a, sadly, expected injury, Patrick Beverley went down for Minny. This always happens and now he takes his few weeks and the cycle rinses and repeats.
Malik Beasley grabbed the bonus playing time/shots here though I'm not sure he gets this level of usage most games.
If he's a FA you might as well add Beasley, though, just in case he gets all shot-happy and posts value for a few weeks. It could happen.
The more fun news is that Jarred Vanderbilt really has turned a corner in the past 2 weeks and learned how to play with KAT.
I was skeptical because last year those two kept trying to occupy the same floor space and it logjammed everything, but there's a chemistry now and it's mostly with Vanderbilt staying the hell out of the way on offense and hammering the glass.
He should be rostered, no question. Congrats if you believed it had staying power a few days before me. You were right. It might not last all year, of course, but he's locked into this role for now and that's good.
I got the free play wrong here, thinking Atlanta would take their road woes into San Antone. They did not. Capela has arrived and I don't think it's a coincidence the Hawks are magically playing way better.
Clint is into the 50's in rank now after a start near 110, but we always knew it was coming. His FG% and blocks were way down. They're coming back up now. Bogi looked good too and he's worth exploring as a SELL guy when he has good games. Bogdan, I mean. Not Capela. He's a buy.
Meanwhile, ANOTHER injury tonight. This one to Devin Vassell, which sucks because he was playing great. Dammit.
I'm not adding anyone to fill his spot. Most of those fill-ins have whack fantasy stat sets.
Danny Green returned with 17 terrific bench mins and he might actually be worth an add if we find out he's going to get pushed back into the starting 5 to maybe replace Niang? Wait and see but don't be shy. Danny does work when the usage guys are out.
It sounds like Embiid might be back for the next one, though, so that's another reason to play it by ear a bit.
Thybulle is a big defensive ball of joy. Roll on.
The Warriors regulars didn't take this game seriously so the bench unit of Juan Toscano-Anderson and Otto Porter got jiggy. The starters did fine, but grabbed some help. The roster construction here has really worked out well.
And yet another injury - this one to Harrison Barnes. Sigh.
We'll probably see some extra Davion Mitchell while we wait on a Barnes prognosis, and to no one's surprise Buddy Hield seems happy that Luke Walton is gone.
Not adding or dropping any Kings as a result of this one, though, even with big bad Marvin Bagley seeing 19 mins. Richaun Holmes was out and that was a large contributing factor.
Dame and Nurk had a party on the other side. RoCo got ejected (what?!) for flipping his face mask toward an official. Got himself a 15-minute goose-egg, which absolutely blows for everyone but especially us games-cap hooligans.
Nassir Little grabbed most of the bonus mins. I thought it might be Nance but that wasn't working tonight for whatever reason (too big of a lineup?) and the Blazers went ultra small around Nurk's big adventure.
You know I love Nance, but there's definitely some match-up stuff going on, so I think we can probably safely shift him back into streamer dept with upside.
Ouch, fingers hurt. Good thing I didn't pull landscaping duty again, eh Hal L?

LMA played great again and he's absolutely a must-start guy in games cap formats. Harder to deal with on the rest days in h2h but he's been so good lately he probably hangs on even there. Mills is a nice stream with Harris out.
Markkanen and Allen came back from various illnesses and looked great. Fire 'em up! Kevin Love is somehow hanging onto deep league value but his little baby-sized window to play more is gone. As is Ed Davis. Isaac Okoro needs to show me more consistency before I add there.
