🚨🚨 New data from Public Health Wales shows the rate of people with #Covid19 is higher among the vaccinated aged 18+ than the unvaccinated group.

The age ranges are broad but when the First Minister talks of controlling cases - this shows #VaccinePassports policy pointless.

I think many people assume an event with Vaccine Passports is a bomb proof way of stopping the spread of #Covid19.

Opposition parties have asked for evidence from the Government they work and none provided.

If goal is to control spread - this data not reassuring.

There may be challenges with measuring the size of vaccinated population as a caveat to the findings.

Gareth here has looked into the numbers and suggests there may be data management problems in these calculations.

If that is the case then Public Health Wales need to look into this and quality assure what’s coming out.

The same report shows the rate of hospital admissions are higher for the unvaccinated vs vaccinated, so vaccines are effective at reducing serious illness.

But I would like to see evidence to support vaccine passports as they are unnecessary in my opinion.

If you use ONS population estimates rather than PHW you get slightly higher rate in the unvaccinated vs vaccinated for 18-59 group

But for 60+ rates higher in vaccinated vs unvaccinated

Although sum of vaccinated and unvaccinated is higher than population in the PHW data - odd
