BREAKING: A jury has found the three men who killed Ahmaud Arbery as he was running along a Georgia road guilty of felony murder.

Arbery was killed in February 2020 and though the unarmed man was gunned down in broad daylight, the men who admitted they had chased him in their trucks and killed him were not immediately arrested.

It wasn’t until video of the shooting became public, drawing questions about how local authorities handled the investigation, that the three men were charged with murder.

• Travis McMichael, who pulled the trigger and shot Arbery, was convicted of all nine charges.

• Greg McMichael was convicted on eight charges.

• William Bryan was convicted on six charges.

All three now face life in prison.

The most common charge stemming from Jan. 6 is illegally entering the Capitol — which carries a maximum one-year prison sentence.

But adding a weapons charge ups the maximum sentence to 10 years.
The most common weapons that show up in the charging documents are knives, axes, and chemical sprays. But prosecutors also say baseball bats, fire extinguishers, and police gear taken from officers were used against authorities that day.
