Labour councillor and former leader of Blaenau Gwent Council, Hedley McCarthy, believes that Keir Starmer is a "puppet" of the Board of Deputies who raises concerns about #antisemitism as a "sponsored question from his financiers", to please the "people with the money strings".
Cllr Hedley McCarthy shares antisemitic posts by Jackie Walker (she was lying - most of the people listed did in fact condemn the far-right actions mentioned). He recommends antisemitism denialist organisation Labour Against the Witchhunt's submission to the Forde Enquiry.
Cllr Hedley McCarthy is concerned that @UKLabour has become the "Netanyahu Labour Party of the UK" and that the party's representatives are "kissing his butt" (Bibi's).
Cllr Hedley McCarthy runs a Facebook group called 'The Daily Fib', which is supposedly dedicated to "exposing political whoppers" but dominated by antisemitic conspiracists who attribute nearly every problem to 'Zionists'.
But, hey, Hedley McCarthy is only a serving Labour councillor and the former leader of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council! I reported him to Labour HQ some months ago but see no sign that any action has been taken. He still appears to take the Labour whip at council.
The Green Party continues to employ an antisemitic conspiracy theorist as their main filmmaker. Jeremy Clancy’s latest campaign video was for newly elected Hackney mayor Zoë Garbett, one of many he has made for Zack Polanski’s party.🧵1/3
Glancy’s antisemitism isn’t hard to spot. His X timeline is strewn with posts saying, for example, the “government is entirely captured by Israeli and Jewish interests”, “Every PM must take a vow to be lead [sic] by Israel” and “Congratulations Israel, you’ve outdone Hitler”. 2/3
Jeremy Clancy’s bigotry was publicly exposed a while back but hasn’t deterred the Greens from commissioning him to write, film and produce their party election broadcasts and social media promos. Green antisemitism isn’t just a local issue; it comes from the top of the party. 3/3
I don't know how the election for Newham Council is going, but imagine shacking up with someone exposed as a Holocaust denier. That's what Linda Jordan and Amir Ali did in forming an independent councillors' group with Belgica Guaña for this week's election. 🧵 1/3
Belgica Guaña was a Labour councillor but disowned by the party after a series of antisemitic and Holocaust denial posts by her were discovered during the 2022 local election campaign. She still won the seat but was excluded from the Labour group. 2/3
She has sat as an independent since then and stood for election again on 7 May. We can only hope that voters have rejected her this time round. Not long to find out, though. 3/3
Jeremy David Parker is a Green Party candidate hoping to represent Newton & Valley ward on Sandwell Council on 7 May. Parker's X timeline is a study in modern antisemitic tropes. Here are some of the clearest, by category. 🧵 1/14
The recurring theme of Jez Parker's account is the conspiracy theory that Zionists secretly control Western politicians. Trump, Starmer, Jenrick, Farage, Lowe — for Parker, all "puppets", "owned", "paid", or "controlled" by Israel. Lord Balfour too, retrospectively. 2/14
Parker extends this conspiracy to the media. Journalists are "paid" by Israel; critics are "paid trolls of the Israeli government"; the "paymasters of the British media" dictate the line. The classic "Jewish press" conspiracy theory, with "Zionist" swapped in for "Jew". 3/14
Newcastle Green Party election candidate Tina Ion’s racist anti-Jewish and anti-Afghan posts are shocking enough, but she is also behind a spoof Anne Frank account on Meta’s Threads platform that takes her antisemitic bile to another level altogether. 🧵 1/4
Using the handle “thereal.anne.frank”, Tina Ion has posted a series of Nazi-grade rants demanding “Israel must be eradicated. Even if it means killing every single Zionist.” She declares: “They are vermin. And vermin needs eliminated [sic] so it can’t harm children.” 2/4
The Greens’ candidate for Newcastle City Council’s Blakelaw & Cowgate ward mocks Israeli Jews, claiming that “Even when death’s a good chance they won’t skip a bargain”, and shares explicit fantasies about how she would like to see them die. 3/4
THREAD 1/5: Mohammed Tabrizy is the @WorkersPartyGB candidate in #SheffieldHallam. As well as his obligatory adulation of @GeorgeGalloway, Mo stands with the Palestinian terrorist group #Hamas and praises Lebanese paramilitary party #Hezbollah’s leader as a “freedom fighter”.
2/5: Mo Tabrizy (@TabrizyGee) shares cartoons that deploy racialised stereotypes of Jewish people and promote antisemitic narratives about their supposed power and influence.
3/5: The Workers Party politician believes “Israelis are evil people” and “all from hell”, and he warns that “As long as there is Israel there [can] never be peace on earth”. He is amused by the fact that many Jews changed their surnames to try to avoid discrimination in Europe.
George Galloway has threatened to sue @HopeNotHate over a flyer distributed in #Rochdale. Leaving aside the claim about supporting dictators, is it true that “His Workers Party is full of antisemites, racists and conspiracy theorists”? Let’s look at its election candidates. 1/20
WPB's #Chesterfield candidate Julie Lowe claims Jews engage in child sacrifice & plot with Freemasons, Satanists & paedophiles to take power & establish a New World Order. She disputes that 6m Jews were murdered in the Holocaust & reckons the Rothschilds bombed the Titanic. 2/20
Contesting #DundeeCentral, in Galloway's home city, for the Workers Party is Raymond Mennie. His career as a Labour councillor ended when he was jailed for corruption in public office. Now he's a 9/11 Truther who promotes almost every antisemitic conspiracy theory going. 3/20
