2/"Federal prosecutors have demanded the financial records of multiple fundraising organizations launched by attorney Sidney Powell after the 2020 election as part of a criminal investigation, according to a subpoena reviewed by The Washington Post.
3/"The grand jury subpoena, issued in September by the U.S. attorney’s office for the District of Columbia, sought communications and other records related to fundraising and accounting by groups including Defending the Republic,
4/"a Texas-based organization claiming 501(c) 4 nonprofit status, and a PAC by the same name, according to the documents and a person familiar with the investigation who spoke on the condition of anonymity to share details of the probe.
5/"As part of the investigation, which has not been previously reported, prosecutors are seeking records going back to Nov. 1, 2020.
6/"The subpoena reviewed by The Post was signed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Molly Gaston, who is also handling politically charged matters related to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol,
7/"including contempt of Congress charges brought against former Trump adviser Stephen K. Bannon for refusing to testify in front of the House committee investigating the pro-Trump riot.
8/"In an email, an attorney for Defending the Republic said, “We have always known the more effective we are, the more the false attacks will intensify. Defending the Republic has and will continue to fight for #WeThePeople who make this country work.”
9/"'Defending the Republic and the PAC will not be diverted from their missions by lies, innuendo and other distractions,' added the attorney, Howard Kleinhendler. “We believe in the law, the Rule of Law, and we intend to follow it and work to reinstate and preserve it.”
10/".. The federal investigation highlights the intensifying legal quandaries facing Trump-allied attorneys and other figures who promoted false claims that the election was rigged.
11/"Earlier this year, Defending the Republic was fined by Florida authorities and named in a federal defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems, the Denver-based company portrayed by Powell as part of a plot to steal the 2020 election. .." ~excerpts WaPo

Good Morning..hope you all had a great holiday weekend
Because..
Gov't funding runs out on Friday
New Gov't spending CR must be passed by midnight 12/3 (no one expects a shutdown, but..)
And...
Debt limit deadline 12/15
NDAA
BBB
Brace yourselves:
December will be insane
2/Re NDAA:
Schumer expects to push it thru the Senate without too much trouble
The issue will be GOP amendments
Before Thanksgiving he tried to get a bipartisan agmnt to limit them and at the last minute it fell thru
3/Re Debt ceiling:
Per Yellen gov't will default by 12/15 if this is not resolved
Tho McConnell still doesn't want Dems to use a reconciliation fix he & Schumer appear to be slightly more agreeable about getting it done
Some House chatter @ getting rid of it altogether
We'll see

Yesterday DC Court of Appeals asked lawyers for Trump, J6 & NARA to prep to argue whether the courts even have the jurisdiction to hear this case
Hearing is Monday
NOT looking good for Trump
Here:
nbcnews.com/politics/donal…
2/"[Appeals court] raised the question on its own, meaning it was not suggested by the lawyers in the case.
3/"It asked: "Does the provision in the Presidential Records Act providing that the Archivist’s 'determination whether access to a Presidential record ... shall be restricted ... shall not be subject to judicial review, except as provided in subsection (e) of this section'

Big deal?
The Manhattan DA's office has convened a new grand jury
Tish James is considering a new law suit against Trump
Cy Vance is retiring next month
Is *this* how newly elected Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg will finally be able to criminally indict Trump?
washingtonpost.com/politics/trump…
2/"'This is way, way beyond anything that’s believable,' said Norm Miller, a professor of real estate finance at the University of San Diego who has appraised properties for 50 years. “I’ve never seen anything with a gap that extreme.”
3/"But extreme is not the same as illegal. Legal experts said that if prosecutors wish to prove a crime, they will need to do more than simply prove Trump’s valuations were wrong.

Remember when Pelosi was on the phone during the Congressional baseball game?
She was talking to Manchin
Good news: she's still working on this
Still helping get BBB thru the Senate
And she is REALLY good:
nytimes.com/2021/11/20/us/…
2/"[Pelosi] is still not done, with the Senate now getting a chance to reshape the measure in the hope of eventually sending it back for final House approval and Mr. Biden’s signature.
3/"Mr. Manchin is still demanding major changes, such as the jettisoning of a new four-week paid family and medical leave program that Ms. Pelosi has made a top priority.

Per @jonkarl "Betrayal":
We have kewpie doll Trump lawyer Jenna Ellis writing yet *another* memo directing Pence
Meadows sent it to Pence's aide:
It gave states til 7pm 1/15/20 to send back new votes & if they missed that deadline their votes wouldn't be counted
Read. This.
⤵️
2/"Ellis, in the memo, outlined a multi-step strategy: On Jan. 6, the day Congress was to certify the 2020 election results, Pence was to send back the electoral votes from six battleground states that Trump falsely claimed he had won.
3/"The memo said that Pence would give the states a deadline of "7pm eastern standard time on January 15th" to send back a new set of votes, according to Karl.

Chris Christie has written a book
Maggie Haberman got a copy
She reports he writes that when he had Covid he was given last rights at the hospital
He then got a call from a hospitalized Trump, who asked:
“Are you gonna say you got it from me?”
nytimes.com/2021/11/13/us/…
This book is Christie doing the traditional 'write a book before you run for the Oval' dance
It's a *lot* of too little, too late
And I will work hard to prevent him winning the presidency
But it's got *some* interesting info in it
Per NYT:
Thread⤵️
2/"the Youngkin victory knocks down “this idea that if you don’t agree with Donald Trump on everything, and pledge unfettered fealty to him, then you can’t win because his voters quote unquote won’t come out to vote,” Mr. Christie said. “No candidate owns voters. They don’t.”
