Samuel Gona Kaingu alias Foolish, a wanted criminal in several cases of robbery with violence in Mombasa, was yesterday apprehended by DCI officers within the precincts of the Mombasa Law Courts. The officers had gotten wind that the 21-year-old miscreant would be attending a
court hearing for an on-going criminal case. The information volunteered by a concerned member of the public turned out to be true, when the thug strolled into the court compound before noticing the presence of our hawk-eyed men.
In a poetic turn of events, “Foolish” lived up to his alias by making the costly decision to flee, much to the pleasure of the fast charging Likoni-based crime busters. It wasn’t long before they floored him and whisked him to a waiting police motor.

A robbery with violence suspect is cooling his heels at a police cell after a robbery mission at a house in Shauri Moyo area of Nairobi backfired.

Ian Otieno, 25, and his three accomplices had gained entry to the house of a family within Jua Kali area at 10pm last night,
ordering the victims to cooperate and lie down lest they suffered dire consequences.

The four-man gang robbed the family of three mobile phones, before unmounting a 43 inch Hisense TV as they ransacked the house for more valuables.

The gang's robbery adventure was however cut
short by a neighbour who spotted the gang terrorizing the family, raising a distress call that scared them off.

As he scampered to escape the wrath of a thronging mob, Otieno had brandished a dagger with which he inflicted a cut on the neighbour's head, perhaps for spoiling

Muthoni was transporting students from Nyeri to Nairobi for their mid-term break. After failing to contain the rowdy and highly intoxicated students, the driver resorted to driving them to the nearby police station.
Sadly, the 14 students (seven boys and seven girls) jumped from the windows of the moving matatu before Muthoni could reach the report desk. In his own Facebook account, Muthoni has reported that he was sacked for his act of bravely.
