Apart from correcting historical anomalies in citizenship legislation, the rest of the bill is mainly about the overhaul of the UK asylum system, which has been widely criticised.

On July 1, EU citizens who haven’t applied for status will lose their rights. No one should become unlawful on 1 July. This goes against the promise made in 2016. Innocent people will have the rug pulled from under their feet.
