Pakistan Watch - Socio-political
- News & Analysis about Pakistan's socio-political and socio-economic aspects.
- Do you know what this is?
- This is the tomb of a boy named Ilm-ud-din in Lahore.
- Known locally as Ghazi Ilm Din Shaheed Tomb.
- Why is he revered?
- Because in 1929, he killed a Hindu publisher named Mahashe Rajpal for publishing a 'blasphemous' book Rangila Rasul.
+
+
- Here are some other images from his tomb.
- Goes w/o saying that even 90+ years after he 'avenged' the insult to Prophet Mohammad, by killing the Kaffir Hindu, he remains a revered figure.
+
+
- This is funeral procession of Ilm Din, led by Imam of masjid Wazeer Khan, Imam Muhammed Shamsuddeen.
- Allama Iqbal can be seen sitting in the front row.
- BTW, he was hanged and buried in Mianwali.
- But a committee of Muslim 'notables' led by Allama Muhammad Iqbal +
+ petitioned Britishers to hand-over his body so that Muslims could give him a proper burial.
- It is said that between 200,000 to 400,000 people attended his funeral procession.
- Muslim traders of Lahore organized a one day strike in his honor.
+
+
- Do you know what Allam Iqbal said about this bod?
- He said, “ assi gallan e kardey rah gaye te tarkhana da munda bazi ley gya”.
- To paraphrase - "All we did was engage in useless discussion while this son of a carpenter has achieved the glory"
+
+
- The father of Illm-din asked Allam Iqbal to lead his son's funeral prayers but Iqbal declined and is said to have replied that I am a sinful person not competent to do this job to lead the funeral of such a matchless warrior.
- Poster of Illm-din.
- So, now please tell me, why are people surprised by the killing, and burning of a Sri Lankan manager in Pakistan on charges of blashphemy?
- Mumtaz Qadri:
Who killed Pakistani Punjab Governor Salman Taseer because he spoke against blasphemy laws being facilitated by Pakistani crowd even while in custody.
- Ahmed Nawaz:
Security guard at a bank in Pakistan who killed his manager, accusing him of blasphemy. You can see the crowd cheering him, wanting to touch and kiss him.
Again, you're surprised by this?

What bullshit is this? No dearth of fucking idiots.
And @SwarajyaMag is carrying this piece of shit! I expect such a piece in Wire, Scroll or Newsminute. Not on a portal which is supposedly right of center! This is the best you could come-up with in terms of fixing accountability? Throw the chap in uniform under the bus? Pathetic!
So, as per the geniuses at @SwarajyaMag, a soldier is worthy of praise as long as he makes no mistake. Or better, if he dies in ops. We will then pin a medal on his chest, and write a moving tweet or an article. If he screws-up, BC, charge him with murder! Thankless buggers.

Before holier - than - thou Hindu warriors jump in and accuse Haryana government of appeasement, please ask yourself this - under what provision will government disallow the namaaz? And as government, it is duty bound to provide required security to allow the event to take place.
- So, this tweet generated a lot of heat.
- Never mind the idiotic comments, it shows how shallow is our understanding of issues.
- Bas chad jao daal-paani le ke sarkaar pe!
- First, basic facts:
There were 106 government designated sites for offering +
+ namaaz, which were consolidated into 37 sites in 2018.
- The news in media is about only TWO specific sites: Sector-47, and Sector-12A.
- Here again, what are the issues?
(A) Sector 47:
(1) Residents say that there is overcrowding at the Namaaz site on Fridays, and its spills +

“Men of the Rajput Regiment, you were born to die for your country. God has selected this small river for which you must die. Stand up and fight like true Rajputs”.
- Maj B K Pant, 2 Rajput, 1962, Battle of Namka Chu.
- Tale of his indomitable courage.
- As Times Magazine said +
+ Indian Army lacks everything but courage.
- Everytime the 1962 war anniversary comes up, I'm reminded of Major BK Pant.
- Men like him remained true to their oath of Naam, Namak, Nishaan.
- Men who were let down by Nehru, Krishna Menon, and a compromised Army leadership which+
+ could not stand-up against the Politicians for its men.
- I've been reading about the 1962 war, and believe you me, as I read the details of how we lost men, territory, and honor, I feel a pain in my chest.
- But I hope we can tell the stories of our bravehearts.
- There were +

PART 1: Modi - Amit Shah - Shaheen Bagh
- Many are blaming AS for incompetency in handling Shaheen Bagh, and farmers protests.
- Here's a contrary opinion
- 1st, if there is incompetence, and if anyone has to be blamed for it, it has to be Modi.
- Why?
- Because AS +
+ serves at his pleasure, and it should be clear to everyone by now that ALL ministers in GOI follow directions set by NM.
- Coming to Shaheen Bagh (SB) and famers protest (FP), bot of these were/are much more than simply a bunch of people protesting against certain laws.
+
+
- Shaheen Bagh was a carefully orchestrated, high profile event where Muslims (minority) was openly pitted against GOI.
- It was a high decibel, high optics protest with very careful social media management.
- BJP as it is has been painted as anti-Muslim, and this protest was +

To people outraging over Sikh Regiment versus Sikh Light Infantry, do you know that The President's Bodyguard recruits ONLY from Hindu Jats, Hindu Rajput and Jat Sikhs? Your topic of the day for outrage 😝
BTW,when the society itself cannot get Jat Sikhs and Mazhabi Sikhs to live together, how do you expect them to form a cohesive fighting unit? And no, please don't bring in the example of All-India, All-Class Regiments or Corps as a counter. Because in these Regiments or Corps, +
+ no single community dominates. An all encompassing Sikh Regiment is different from a Punjab Regiment which will have a mix of Jat Sikhs and Mazhabi Sikhs. Because it also has men across all castes from Punjab, Himachal and parts of J&K. And as a soldier, one desires to join +

Remember the much persecuted Ahmadiyyas from Pakistan?
- Well, during 1947-48 Kashmir war, they set-up an all volunteer, all Ahmadiyyas force known as Furqan Force (7 Punjab) to fight against India.
- Even undertook expenses & maintenance of this force by themselves.
The irony!
Said a person who left India and migrated to Pakistan, a nation created on religious identity.
This level of brilliance is simply not possible in a human being! There is some extraterrestrial stuff going on here. Image
