Would love to have @GAustinAllison on for an episode to dig in deeper on their model and the benefits and vision for the future. I'm missing something here and I want to hear it from the #1 authority.

Clearly a ton of opportunity in the space and @PacasoHomes is on a run.

The Lindy Effect is a useful framework for evaluating the durability and life expectancy of a technology or idea.

Here's a very simple breakdown:
1/ Let's start with a definition.

The Lindy Effect is a theory that the future life expectancy of specific non-perishable items—like a technology or idea—is proportional to their age.

Simply, the longer it has already lasted, the higher the likelihood it will continue to last.
2/ The term "Lindy Effect" is a reference to Lindy’s—a New York deli frequented by comedians in the 1960s.

While author Albert Goldman used the term "Lindy's Law" in a 1964 article, it was mathematician Benoit Mandlebrot who shifted the dialogue towards the current definition. Image

I recently found out I'm going to be a father.

Here are the principles I want to teach my child to live by:
Be Interested

Talent is overrated—interest is not.

Interested people are prone to giving their deep attention to something to discover more about it.

They ask questions, listen, & observe. They open up to the world around them.

Being interested is a key to a fulfilling life.
Different is Beautiful

Growing up, I feared being different—I desperately wanted to fit in.

I made bad decisions grounded in insecurity.

I only realized later: being different is your edge—your ultimate competitive advantage.

No one can compete with you, at being you.

How to land your dream job:
I’ve been involved in a lot of hiring processes.

I'm also not afraid to admit I've been rejected for more jobs than I can count.

But there are proven ways to stand out and win.

The 3-part framework:
• Foot in the Door
• Nail the Interview
• Close the Deal

Let's dive in:
Part 1: Foot in the Door

The hiring process is ultra-competitive.

There always seems to be an overabundance of candidates applying for the same highly sought-after roles.

You can't land the job if they won't even give you a chance.

5 methods to get your foot in the door:

The most powerful paradoxes of life:
The Persuasion Paradox

Have you noticed that the most argumentative people rarely persuade anyone?

The most persuasive people don’t argue—they observe, listen, and ask questions.

Argue less, persuade more.

Persuasion is an art that requires a paintbrush, not a sledgehammer.
The Effort Paradox

You have to put in more effort to make something appear effortless.

Effortless, elegant performances are often the result of a large volume of effortful, gritty practice.

Small things become big things. Simple is not simple.
