🧵🪡 So a disappointing but excellent scenario, ordered 300 rounds #lehighdefense 90gr 9mm Extreme defense ammo with their Black Friday sale to try, sadly right before the ammo arrived, I got an email (attached), the lot I had ordered failed their QC tests for reliability
Kudos to them for catching the QC problem, also their resolution is to fully refund our orders and encourage their customer to shoot the ammo. So that means one thing to my ballistic nerd brain, Testing!! I will be using many procedures from @wayofftheres tests that he has posted
in his excellent articles on @GunsAmerica. I do not throw that word around lightly, as while I don’t have any operational experience, I have worked in the gun industry for many years, which created a lifelong fascination with terminal ballistics.
So @wayofftheres any ideas for testing that you didnt get a chance to try with the G9 rounds? My current list is, Car Door. Car side window vs. windshield, Soft armor (just cuz), Plywood, Heavy clothing, Typical interior Sheetrock wall,
Side of pork prepared per Dr. Martin recipe
@wayofftheres For the barrier shots, should I try to get ahold of ballistic gel to try to be able to test not just the deviation of the bullet but weight retention/approximate penetration? Any other thoughts crew? This will take a bit as my wallet will be the limiting factor
While I’m thinking of it i really should try to get access to some other interesting ammo while I’m at it. This is getting expensive. gunsamerica.com/digest/g9-bull…
🧵🪡 @HAv2RtrnVdeoTps a day late but, On Thanksgiving. I am thankful to be born in such a time as this. As we go through this fourth turning, I know not what the future holds, but I know that I will do my best to play my part in bending the arc of history as others have before.1
I grew up reading about heroes, both mythical like Ivanhoe and real like Swamp Fox(Francis Marion), who, when their time came, rose to their trial and helped their community through the trying time. 2/6
When I read about history and the great and yet imperfect people that helped shape our history, I have always wondered what I would do at the time. Would I have the courage to take the road less traveled, to sacrifice something for what I believed? 3/6
🧵So I’m going to try to put this simply, there is this thing called natural law, you know inalienable rights? The most basic of these is the right to self defense of one, other innocents and their property. (Btw this is where the idea of free speech comes from too)
Then there is this little thing where the founding fathers sought to recognize the existence of this human right. 2nd amendment “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”
Why does the tool used to defend one’s self matter? Its an inanimate object, how an individual uses it matters. Kyle used it to save his life and others, if he didnt have a semi auto he’d be dead, he had to fire 3 shots in .4 of a second.
🧵🪡 With the FBI surveillance footage that entered into the Kyle Rittenhouse trial, the FBI’s sizeable aerial surveillance program has come back into the public eye. I have read about the program previously and decided to do some research 1/20 web.archive.org/web/2021111100…
and ended up with more questions than answers. It turns out it is a rather extensive program, and before we get to the questions I still have, I want to lay out some facts about the program that I’ve found in the public domain. 2/20
1. Many Federal agencies have extensive air fleets that they use for a variety of tasks, including surveillance. 3/20 web.archive.org/web/2021111101…
Good article, his father sounds like a wise man. “Victimhood had no place in his life and there were no excuses for doing anything less than our best. His legacy was one of accomplishment; not maudlin self-pity.”
As a non Jew with a particular interest in WW2 I think the biggest mistake has been the idea of not talking about the holocost and specifically not talking freely about the lead up to it that started in 1933, so many dont understand the significance of the T4 program that
Targeted the mentally ill and handicap with forced sterilization or murder, it was T4 that did R&D for the death camps, or the 1936 Olympic Games that gave Hitler much sought legitimacy, they took down all the Juden-Frei signs just for the few weeks
This project is almost two years in the making and is my interpretation of a modern-day London Best matched set of custom 9mm 2011 pistols. As you know, any matched pair must come with a case that would nestle the pistols and proper tools for what any gentleman/woman would need
to show up fully prepared for their duel or shooting range trip. I have always liked the historical idea of designing a matched pair of pistols; additionally, there is a reason why the practice started in the first place. I uniquely chose each feature to adapt best
to my disabilities, design sensibility, and intended uses. It made sense to have one carry version and one external training option/backup. The bag itself was a labor of love with Michael Noelle Leatherworx, who helps make the designs in my head manifest themselves into reality.
