There have always been Doomers who believe the collapse of human society is right around the corner, and Bloomers who believe that things are basically good, and that our brightest days are yet ahead of us.
@cognazor@RizomaSchool@dogeatcrow So far, you all seem to be much more heavily weighted toward the Doomer end of the aspirational both/and identity you've set-up for yourselves. If you ever want to explore that with someone whose more on the Optimism side, let me know. There's good creative tension here. 😉
And if you're interested, it'd be cool to consider how we might have that kind of conversation without falling into the narcissism of small differences.

Functional networks are never in a static state of being either centralized or decentralized–they are always moving! This means that networks are either centralizing, decentralizing, or distributing. #NetworkTheory
I think the Web3 crypto network builders out there would probably benefit a lot from reading Networkologies–which presents a philosophy of networks.
“When centralizing and decentralizing tendencies reach a point of balance, in regard to both internal and external contexts, the result is refractive, or distributed network topologies, often known as ‘small world’ networks in complex systems science.” – Christopher Vitale
After engaging with lots of different productivity hacks, systems, & approaches I finally gave up on the idea that someone else knows how to do this better than me. 🧵
When I totally let go of the guidance of external authority w/r/t productivity, I ended up experimenting, and those experiments have yielded some incredibly interesting results.
First thing I did was abandon the idea of an "Inbox" as something that I need to be on top of, clean out regularly, or frankly, to even have.
I renamed my desktop folder from "Inbox" to "Time", and began to let everything flow through time, similar to the twitter timeline.
🧵 I try not to talk too much about crypto here, because it's a contentious topic inside the intersecting venn diagram of communities I take part in, but it's a pretty dang important topic.
To my crypto-maxi mutuals: Look I get that this is literally as big a deal as web 1.0 & web 2.0 were, in terms of the future impact on technology, society, consciousness, etc...
But what many of you don't seem to appreciate is that the foundation of our ecology is rotting out from under us in real-time and DLTs aren't going to save us. Neither will Elon, Technolojesus, conscious capitalists, or anyone else. We have to be our own saviors.
This is the top of the mountain curse. From way up there it seems like everyone should get this. This is a conflation of universal and the personal, and all it’s serving is the “enlightened ego.” Enjoy the fall, my friends...
And sadly, most people suffering from this curse aren’t even at the top of the mountain, they just think they are...
If we ONLY have a way of describing what the offenders of racial injustice look like, how can we possible hope to align ourselves with the forces of liberation?
Positive identities are necessary for positive change. They serve as transitional self-structures that we can co-inhabit.
