Amazing: Here are what leading press freedom and civil liberties groups -- Committee to Protect Journalists, Reporters Without Borders, Freedom of the Press Foundation, and ACLU -- tweeted about one of the gravest attacks on First Am press freedoms in years in the Assange case:
What @ACLU often does -- when they know they must speak in order to uphold their brand as a civil liberties group while defending people their liberal donors hate -- is they bury it on their website, but won't tweet it to their 2 million liberal donors:

We now have a strong denunciation from the @ACLU on their Twitter feed of the Biden DOJ's "victory" in a UK court for its ongoing authoritarian attempt to extradite and prosecute Julian Assange as punishment for the reporting he did:

Good morning. The US and UK are indefinitely imprisoning one of the most consequential journalists of our generation in a high-security prison for exposing their crimes and, more so, for reporting critically on Hillary Clinton. Most US/UK journalists are indifferent to supportive Image
I spoke to @jimmy_dore for 30 minutes about the severe injustice of the Assange prosecution, the lies told by NBC and CNN's @Acosta to justify it, and especially the tepid indifference on parts of the left (at best) to this case. Here's why, in 2 parts:

Since the end of WW2, vehement opposition to the Deep State -- the US security services: CIA, FBI, NSA --was foundational to left-wing politics. Now they barely care about that at all, and thus don't value Assange's heroic work, because those agencies were allies against Trump:

By far the greatest amount of disinformation and Fake News comes not from QAnon, FB or random YouTubers, but the largest media corporations.

He's a segment on MSNBC where @JoeNBC and @clairecmc spent 2 minutes straight telling one outright lie after the next on the Assange case:
I'm going to write about this segment because I don't mean that Scarborough and McCaskill expressed dubious views, but that each of the lies they told are demonstrably false.

The ones who yell loudest about disinformation are those who spread it most. NBC lies like this daily.
Democrats are everything they accuse Trump and Fox of being.

Their networks -- NBC & CNN -- spread lies daily as disinformation outlets.

They want their enemies censored, imprisoned, silenced. The ones who write Atlantic essays on democracy are the most virulent authoritarians.

Does it take any effort to see why "socialists" who threaten nobody and do nothing hate those like Julian Assange who actually risk meaningful aspects of their lives to confront real power centers?

Again, Assange is what so many posers pretend to be, so they hate him for it.
How come CIA, NSA, UK security services, DOJ, NATO governments, western power centers have no interest in Hasan Piker? Why don't they regard him as a threat? Why aren't they trying to arrest and silence him? He literally hands a radical flag on his wall during Twitch streams. ☭
After denouncing "Assange stans" as creepy fascists who belong on the Jimmy Dore show in the above clip, @hasanthehun wants everyone to know that he then bravely said he is opposed to Assange being in "forever jail." What a stirring condemnation of the Biden Administration. ✊

Three DNC Google pundits who couldn't place Brazil on a map if you put a gun to their head spend 15 minutes lying about our renovation project for Jacarezinho, a place they hadn't heard of until 3 days ago, based on a show in a language they don't speak, all while helping nobody.
I spoke here with @AndrayDomise - at 46:00 - about the renovation projects @davidmirandario and I are doing in Rio favelas, and the bizarre spectacle of being attacked for it by pseudo-socialists who do nothing but profit off empty ideological posturing.

But in general: I don't understand why anyone would want to watch a show -- cable or YouTube -- that contains nothing but pundits who think exactly the same, all sitting around nodding in agreement, without anyone there to dissent or point out lies.

Who could find that edifying?

Yesterday I posted the video of Lula heralding Assange as a hero and denouncing the US/UK as tyrannical. Here's another center-left presidential candidate from Brazil, @CiroGomes, arguing the same.

When it comes to US attacks on press freedoms in the
last 6 years, nothing comes close to Assange's extradition and prosecution. Nothing is in the same universe. But media frauds don't care because he's not one of them, not in their clique, and is a real journalist & dissident.
Employees of media corporations harbor hatred for Assange for the obvious reason: they're Dems and his reporting harmed Hillary.

But much of it is jealousy & resentment: he's a mirror showing what frauds they are. He is what they pretend to be: speaking real truth to real power.
What a complete, absolute joke. Jim @Acosta - one of the most coddled, harmless, shielded, banal blowhards ever - wrote a book, that liberals ate up, heralding himself as an imperiled journalist-dissident.

CIA stenographers go to hair salons. Real dissidents end up like Assange
