A man’s appointment with a witch doctor turned tragic, after an altercation between them attracted a rowdy mob that came to the rescue of the witch doctor. Muthui Mwenga, 65, had gone to consult the traditional ‘medicine man’ in Mwingi East, Kitui County before an
argument arose over an unspecified issue. Neighbours in Mathuki area reported hearing the wails and screams of the well known 80-year-old witch doctor, who has over the years earned himself a good reputation in Mathuki, for his trade. They immediately rushed to
his rescue in their numbers. On arrival, they found him writhing in pain after being attacked on the head by the client turned assailant. The angry residents descended on the client with all manner of projectiles, killing him on the spot.
We caution members of the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and endeavour to report crimes to police for action.

The Director of Criminal Investigations has noted with a lot of concern the rampant cases of persons in possession of Police Clearance Certificates that were allegedly generated into their respective email accounts from the DCI.

In the regrettable trend,
it is suspected that applicants who are unwilling to follow the due application process may have worked in cohorts with rogue persons, thereby acquiring unprocedurally and illegally generated certificates.

It is hereby advised that all Police Clearance Certificates are directly
generated into the Ecitizen platform, and as such, any application generated through an individual's email is outright forgery and not issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

Six people have been confirmed dead and two others are in critical condition, after a police officer went on a killing spree early this morning in Kabete, Kiambu county. Police Constable Benson Imbasi, who later committed suicide by turning the gun on himself, had first killed
his wife by shooting her on her neck, before he walked out of his house and started shooting at innocent members of the public frenziedly. In the sad incident that occurred today at 3am, the cop gone rogue who was wielding an AK-47 assault riffle, also killed three young men

Kericho county detectives are hunting down three men who violently robbed a 21-year-old lady at a PSV as she traveled home last night.

After running day-long errands at the green town, the young lady had at 9pm boarded a 7-seater black Toyota Wish at a stage opposite Kipchimatt
Supermarket, bound for Chepseon area of Kericho.

Opting for the vehicle whose make is popular for transport in the county, the young woman found three male occupants, a driver and two others whom she believed were passengers like her. However, it was a matter of time before the
trio turned her holy day of worship into a dreadful experience.

Picking no more passengers, the driver rolled his wheels towards Chepseon direction, before asking for the lady's fare after covering a kilometre.

A 31-year-old man from Kamanamsim in Litein, Kericho county is in custody after he was caught in an unnatural act with a calf.
Kennedy Lamar, was arrested after the calf’s owner Fancy Langat, raised alarm attracting the whole village, after she heard her calf groaning
at around 5am. An alarmed Langat who thought a predator had attacked her livestock leapt from her bed, opened her door and stealthily tiptoed towards her cattle boma. Suddenly, she saw a dark silhouette of a man moving away from the groaning calf and took cover on the
