Are you looking to build a startup?

Use my 3-stage startup model strategy, and the chances of failure will minimise.

Stage 1: Idea
Stage 2: Build
Stage 3: Scale

Here is a thread 🧵 for you 👇
Stage 1: Idea Stage

This is the most critical stage because we all have the next unicorn idea which is not a unicorn unless it can be validated.
Setup a simple landing page using @WordPress or your preferred landing pages.

Announce on Social Media and leverage your existing network.

Track the conversion ratio from traffic to leads.
Pro Tip: Spend $100 on Google Ads and see the conversions.
Next, make a short pre-sale, and offer a $1 transaction offer. See how many of your leads are converting.

The number of conversions out of every 100 leads will determine the success rate of your startup.
Example: If 25 leads made the transaction out of 100 leads, the chances of your startup succeeding is 25%.

This step is critical to decide whether you want to move to Stage 2 or else refund the users and move on.
You can also turn those leads into a community to keep them excited to increase your conversion.
Stage 2: Build Stage

This is the most critical stage because your idea is validated, and you have some predictable data to build a simple MVP.
Most founders mistake spending two years building the whole product only to realise they are either too late in the market or the demand has died out.
Typically your MVP should be ready in three months, not a day more. Faster is better.

Use @bubble to build your MVP in weeks.

You can rebuild the entire solution using a real tech stack once you get transactions on your MVP using an actual tech.
This will minimise the risk of hiring, losing money and shipping features faster for your early adopters, making them your true fan.
Stage 3: Scale Stage

Once you have onboarded your first 1000 paid users, you have officially entered your first leg of the growth stage, aka stage to scale.
Start spending money on ads, influencer marketing, affiliates, and SEO now.
This is my 3-stage startup model that I crafted out of my own experience and has worked wonderfully for every startup I have suggested.
Keep working and hustling…

Debt is good if you know how to use it.

Three years back, when I started @PitchGroundHQ, I had to crunch some funds for our marketplace.

When I lost $200k cash in my previous startup, I had to fight back.

I ended up using my credit cards with the highest limit.
I was very confident about my performance marketing skill and very adamant that I will not lose the money.

That was one of the best decisions I took at the start of the @PitchGroundHQ.
Why? Because I had around 45 days to pay back with 0% interest. Now, this was gold for me.

I ended up using two cards and maxed out my spending on both cards.

When my last startup failed, I was in a heavy depression.

I lost over $200k; my previous CTO screwed me over, many people bullied me into pushing me further down.

It was the most challenging phase of my life.
Many people quit on me whom I blindly trusted, I got to about people who only existed in my life due to my prior success.

I went into a heavy depression for months.
Today, that failure of mine lead to the rise of @PitchGroundHQ

Today, the same people are trying to enter my life.

Nothing in life comes easy; all overnight success takes years.

"Udit won't do anything in his life" - These were the exact words I heard from one of my relatives.

Why?

Because I had secured 50% in my 12th board's exam, the most critical year for any student.

Reason? I got into gaming.
My dreams to become a software engineer got shattered...

...but I did not give up.

I told myself, I don't want to prove anyone wrong about my potential, but I want to prove myself right.
I got myself in Mumbai University and started studying for my grads in Account and Finance. Being Marwari, account and finance was natural for me.

I did extremely well, but the amount of time I got during my B&F helped me to study development without requiring any college.
