1. The "Dinner With Trump" scam is back!

The @NRSC is running Facebook ads promoting a dinner with Trump.

But if you read the official rules, you actually get dinner with Lindsey Graham, Tim Scott, and Rick Scott

snopes.com/news/2021/12/1…
@NRSC 2. During the 2020 presidential campaign Trump promoted many contests to win a meal with Trump and there is no evidence anyone actually ever got to eat with Trump

popular.info/p/the-trump-ca…
@NRSC 3. My reporting about the contests for meals with Trump during the campaign got some attention so the Trump campaign leaked "proof" of 3 people who "won"

NONE OF THEM SHARED A MEAL WITH TRUMP

Only one of them had a meal at all and Trump wasn't there!

popular.info/p/update-trump…
@NRSC 4. Trump just continued to promote these fake contests. One highlight was advertising across the country for a meal with Trump in New York even though, due to quarantine rules it would have been illegal for residents of 34 states to attend.

popular.info/p/the-trump-ca…
@NRSC 5. There were almost two dozen contests promising a meal with Trump during the 2020 campaign and there is not a single picture of any winner eating with Trump

1. Six @amazon workers died after a powerful tornado ripped through an Amazon delivery station

They were working through warnings of severe weather

Bezos' initial response was to post a smiling of photo with 6 wealthy people he was sending into space

popular.info/p/amazons-mora… Image
@amazon 2. The six Amazon workers would have probably never been able to afford a space flight. But they were people with families that loved them and dreams for the future.

One victim was a single mom with a one-year-old son.

popular.info/p/amazons-mora…
3. The sequence of events illustrates a larger problem with Amazon's business culture, which subordinates worker safety to ruthless efficiency.

The top priority is profit and wealth creation for investors — even when it puts workers in harm's way.

1. Media coverage of the PowerPoint detailing a plan to overthrow democracy and install Trump for a second term characterized it as "extreme," and "wild," & cast doubt whether its recommendations were "seriously.. considered"

This is revisionist history

popular.info/p/powerpoint-t…
2. Regardless of whether the PowerPoint itself played a central role in Trump's thinking, the plot to overthrow democracy it describes tracks closely with Trump's PUBLIC STATEMENTS

Trump didn't lack the WILL, he lacked a WAY

popular.info/p/powerpoint-t…
3. For example the key slide in the PowerPoint recommends Trump "Declare A National Security Emergency"

Trump did not make such a declaration but, in his speech on January 6, he characterized accepting Biden's victory as a threat to national security

1. @KelloggsUS claims the company still reflects the values of founder W.K. Kellogg but the way the company treats its employees today is the polar opposite

W.K. Kellogg said: "I will invest my money in people"

@KelloggsUS views its people as disposable

popular.info/p/snap-crackle…
@KelloggsUS 2. W.K. Kellogg offered free daycare and Kindergarten for the children of working mothers

All employees families received full medical and dental benefits

He surrounded his cereal plant with a lush 10-acre garden for his employees' use

popular.info/p/snap-crackle…
3. As the Great Depression gripped the country in 1930 W.K. Kellogg reduced shifts from 8-hrs to 6-hrs so that he could hire people who had been laid off

He also increased hourly pay so that workers would still bring home roughly the same amount of money

1. Trump's "media company" is currently valued at $2 BILLION.

It has no product, no customers, and no revenue.

But it's much worse than that.

Follow along if interested. Image
2. The most detailed information we have about Trump's media company is from an investor presentation filed with the SEC.

I want to draw your attention to Page 22 of the presentation which is an overview of the "Infrastructure" of the company.

Pretty important! Image
3. I guess Trump did not expect anyone to actually READ this particular page

Because if you do, it makes absolutely no sense.

This is a social media and streaming company.

This page defines a "user" as "A sales representative who visits customers"

Huh? Image

1. Trump lost Michigan by more than 150K votes but its still been at the center of his false claims of election fraud

Trump's allies have tried to pass new voting restrictions this year but they were vetoed by the governor

So now they have a new scheme

popular.info/p/trumps-michi…
2. An obscure provision in Michigan law says once you collect signatures for a ballot initiative the legislature can pass the initiative before it appears on the ballot and it automatically becomes law and cannot be vetoed

popular.info/p/trumps-michi…
3. And that's exactly what Trump's allies in Michigan are doing. They are collecting signatures to make it harder to vote and then are going to try to jam that through the legislature.

In this way, they can bypass the governor and the voters

1. If you are wondering where this anti-CRT stuff is going a new bill in New Hampshire would require teachers to put a positive spin on slavery.

Seriously.

popular.info/p/new-hampshir…
2. The "teacher loyalty" bill would prohibit, in most circumstances, "any doctrine or theory promoting a negative account or representation of the founding and history of the U.S."

This includes "teaching that the United States was founded on racism"

popular.info/p/new-hampshir…
3. So how would a teacher explain the 3/5ths compromise "which basically invalidated the humanity of enslaved people who were black"

A sponsor of the bill said teachers should say that the 3/5th compromise was an effort to END slavery
