Yesterday marked the 6th drop of @POTUS’ monthly #ChildTaxCredit. This much-needed credit has improved the lives of families across the country, and has undoubtedly impacted women and women of color for the better. Here are two stories, from mothers in #Florida and #Indiana:
“Those who are struggling the most to get by and who face the highest burdens, mostly women in communities of color, need all of these policies that work better together.” Read about Laurie and Topacio, both in Florida, in #ChangeWire: changewire.org/2021/10/29/the…
In Indiana, Eva talks about being a low-income mom: “What’s often overlooked as not a big deal – like dance classes for my daughter. Things like that... that support our children in the long run, are really big deals [for] families in poverty.” indianapublicradio.org/news/2021/11/a…
In addition to the #CTC, the investments in the care economy in #BuildBackBetter would be a major step towards repairing the harm that's been done to women - especially women of color- by decades of unjust govt policies.
An UNELECTED staff atty is blocking immigration relief for nearly 8M immigrants. Senate Democrats have a moral obligation to disregard her advice and pass citizenship as part of #BuildBackBetter. This is still the year. #WeAreHome
Millions of families nationwide are waiting for Senate Dems to do their job and pass the bill that’ll bring relief via the child tax credit, affordable housing & child care, and citizenship. #BBB would be the largest investment in our families in decades.
We elected Democrats to deliver permanent solutions. The lives and stability of millions of people and their families are in the hands of the Senate. Passing BBB, w/ citizenship, would be transformational for the economy, and for millions of Black, immigrant and Latinx families.
